  1. Have a search on Neal Moser's forum... http://mcs.acidpit.org I know he's a fan of flat fretboards and if my memory serves me correct there should be several topics on the subject
  2. Not much work has taken place since the last update I'm afraid, I've done some more sanding on the neck and drilled the tuner holes...that's about it. I've just ordered the bridge and some string ferules, once they're here I can finish up any drilling/routing and get the neck glued, etc.
  3. I'm in Staffordshire, but for £135 I'll send it with DHL (next day delivery)
  4. Make it £135 and you've got a deal
  5. Ok, how about FREE postage... any taker's?
  6. I have 3 very nice, lightweight African Mahogany body blanks for sale. Each half measures approx 7" wide, 21" long and planed to 1 3/4" thick. They're £50 + £9.99 postage (if you want more than 1 set I'll only charge for 1 lot of postage @ £9.99) I'd prefer payment by Paypal. 7. As you can see the neck pocket and pickup have been routed. Everything's gone smoothly so far, the neck access is going to be even better than I'd expected, I'll have no problem hitting those high notes
  8. Yup, still got them give me a shout when you've got your connection sorted mate.
  9. Awesome, lovin' that Black Limba. What's it like to work with? The Black Limba is a dream to work with, it routes very cleanly and sanding takes no time at all.
  10. Clear for sure, I've not made my mind up 100% yet but I'll probably go for a satin finish on the neck and gloss on the body. I finally found the time to route the neck pocket this afternoon, I'll post some more pictures over the next couple of days
  11. Price dropped to £45 inc post, any takers?
  12. Large piece of African Mahogany (kiln dried) measuring approx... 32 1/2" long, 7 3/4" wide, 2 3/4" thick. I've only lightly surfaced it to show the grain, it will need more planing to get it flat. I've also got 2 quarter sawn pieces of Mahogany suitable for neck blanks measuring... 36" x 3" x 33mm 29" x 3" x 30mm £45 + £10 postage, for the all 3 pieces. Paypal preferred 2nd Picture
  13. Ahh sorry Setch I meant to check this thread for replies earlier in the week I sold them last Saturday.
  14. Price lowered to £20, any takers?
  15. Sounds like you need to adjust the truss rod http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/trussadjust.htm
  16. 3 Mahogany neck blanks, approx sizes.... 36" long, 3" wide, 1 1/4" thick (quarter Sawn) 30" long, 4" wide, 1" thick (flat sawn) 30" long, 3 1/2" wide, 1" thick (flat sawn) £25.00 inc posted for all 3
  17. Thanks Yeah, I decided at the last minute to add a thin piece of Ebony between the Limba at the heal, I really like the way it turned out.
  18. Spec: Black Limba body and neck (set neck) Ebony fretboard (no inlays) 25.5" scale with 22 jumbo frets EMG 81/85 (maybe with 25db boost?, not sure yet) T-O-M bridge (black hardware) I started work on this one a few months back so here's what I've got done so far..... This is the 1 piece Black Limba body blank I brought from Rich (fryovanni) Body shape cut out This is some good lookin' wood Bridge pickup routed Shot of the rear I was originally planning on using some Santos Rosewood but after my supplier let me down I decided to buy this nice 2 piece Limba neck blank from Will (Soundat11) Neck blank 1 Neck blank 2 Neck cut to shape and truss rod channel routed, starting to look like a guitar Headstock veneer Roughing out the nut/heel areas of the neck The neck shaping is nearly complete now.... I hope to get time to route the neck pocket, neck pickup, etc, this week, I'll post some more pics then
  19. Although I've not used the sander...I've just brought an Erbauer 1/2" router from Screwfix and the quality is very good, I'm really happy with it, great value for money.
  20. I would definitely go with a mill for small, precise parts like a bridge. Although I'm sure there's several methods of casting alloy, some better than others, in my experience (I used to restore and polish alloy motorbike parts) cast alloy is a nightmare to get to a smooth finish ready for powder coating/plating etc.
