  1. you could wire it prs style with the 5 way super switch from stew-mac. use one of this diagrams: http://static.zoovy.com/img/guitarelectron...W/wdu_hh5r11_01 and just replace the rotary switch with the super switch or you could use this: http://static.zoovy.com/img/guitarelectron...-/wdu_hh5l11_02
  2. could you post what you are thinking?
  3. yeah, you could then, since its already been butchered. I would try to remove it with steam first, though, becuase it if probably hide glue, which softens with heat.
  4. install the fretwire first, so you don't over scallop (have the fretwire overhang the scallop), and you still need a radius.
  5. yeah its POSSIBLE, but I wouldn't do it. it would probably be cheaper to sell it and buy one you like, or sell it, and build one (assuming you have all the major tools) what guitar is it?
  6. http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/pickupwiring.htm and yes, the bare silver is the shield, and if get grounded.
  7. the value of a post is the resistance between the outer two lugs. the inner lug is connected to a sweeper, which when turned, changes the resistance between it and the two outer lugs, controlling how much of the signal goes to each. all the way clockwise tuning (position 10 on a knob) will result in the middle lug directly contacting the left lug of the pot (remember schematics show posts from the bottom, and I am talking about them like that), and putting the knob all the way to 0 connects the middle and the right lugs. I hope this makes sense.
  8. defiantly, epically because there could be problems if your bridge is discontinued right before you order, and you aready cut the neck pocket. you can use .625 for a drawing (side elevation), but don't build on that measurement until you know it for a fact. changing a drawing is easy, changing a lot of work on your guitar isn't.
  9. yeah, I got really good results with that method.
  10. yeah, if you don't want them, drill a hole, and put the machine screw into that. It's all what you want.
  11. how funny. if you are going to have 13 strings, you should get some guitar strings on it, too.
  12. A ground loop is not possible in a passive guitar. Don't worry about it. It's an internet myth that comes up whenever someone grounds something twice. A ground loop is more than multiple grounds. FWIW, I never ground pots in a tele, other than the output jack ground connection to the volume control. if so, then how do they add noise?
  13. retard "yea, its a 26" scale legnth" (referring to the fingerboard legnth, which is really veneer.) and that neck? 1 inch deflection when tuned to pitch. even more with the popsicle stick because I suspect that is where the glue will fail.
  14. how much tension does it take to get an average bass string to tune. I wanna calculate how much the neck would bend...
  15. that will work, but it will not be hum canceling with both humbuckers in single mode, you might want to cut the south coil on one of them, and the kill switch will make a little noise when in use, but it will work. if you want a noiseless kill switch, get a normally open momentary, and connect it to the 2 lugs of the input jack.
  16. so how does one become one? I read that you can write a tutorial for the site, but is that true?
  17. I would dye the pieces for the top separately, then sand them, then glue them on, so you only have to do touch up work. I think the color might blend a littlte if you're not careful, and do all the sanding on the guitar.
  18. switch the left 2 lugs on the put (input and output)
