    Well its been a while since i posted but ive got some work done, and a slight mis-hap while i was using a template bit to route the neck flush with the fretboard the bearing slipped and i went into the neck and side of fret board But i got the control cavity done and the headstock very close to final shape.     Oh my lord that bass is AMAZING!! Your work is absolutely flawless i can;t even believe it. I really like everything abot that bass, i just can't find a single flaw. Keep up the awesome work hope to see some more progress

    Lol cease and disist eh? i drew that headstock up with nothing from memory, drew nut the strings then the head around it but o well seems nothing is original, even though my heastok isnt that original Bass-man43

    Yeah my bad on the string gauge but thats just beating a dead horse.. lol but thannks for the information on the pick-up cause we have a 6 string passive emg bass pickup here, i will probably eend up getting the 808 if i can if not ill use the bass one bass-man43

    Yeah now looking back on the headstock piece your right, i was just having one of those days where i couldnt do anything right i tried to make a template to route the bevels but i messed up hard and got frustrated so i did th eheadstock add ons and i guess i wasnt paying attention haha.... but as for the body grain it really showed up when i took a picture its not as noticable in person. It doesnt really matter that much anyhow seems how its gonna have the sweetest paint job ever but thanks for the feedback, much appreciated Tev

    well the hipshot bridge i think is a hardtail but the string come through the back of the guitar (like a string through) im not entirely sure but thats what it looks like and the same thing like that is for the seven string im building. And btw I took some pictures today albeit theyre not the greatest but ill post em later tonight or tomorrow to show you guys what ive got done. Bass-man43

    Thanks for all the help you guys i appreciate it, I am probably going to stick with a 27" scale probably because 30 inch is kinda of much for a guitar IMO. Does anyone know who makes a .75 string? bass-man43

    Man i really dig the body style on that sucker i personally like purpleheart, im using it for the Fretboard on my brothers 7 string im buidling. BUt its your build you should do what you want. Also if you can get the chance i need some info for my 8 string im building tuned for F# B E A D G B E pickup wise and string gauge wise. IT'd be very helpful thanks Bass-Man43

    Alrighty well my 7 string V is on hold until i get get my Pickup and my truss rod, so my brother will haev to wait on his guitar so now I am starting to build an 8 string ESP Fx 400, and my freind Ngaa is building the exact same thing...copier. Jk For the body i and using some nice Wenge and Bubinga i don't know what im gonna use for the neck yet though Neck Thru 27" scale Hardware-Black Hipshot 8 string bridge Emg 8 string pickup 4X4 tuners I have a couple questions though, first off is EMG selling their eight string pickup now? and if not would a 6 string bass pickup be suitable? and what other companies offer an 8 string pickup. Also lastly what gauge strings would be good for an 8 string tuned to F# B E A D G B E The help would be greatly appreciated as i have not dealt with a 27 inch guitar scale before Bass-Man43

    I'm really liking the explorer Wez especially the headstock even though i still like gibsons I also like the sircote fretboard, for my 7-string im using curly Black Walnut for my fretboard it looks nuts cant wait to see your finished product!

    So heres an update today i got the template done and the mahogany part of the body. Wednesday i hope to have the maple top planed and glued together. For the input I am going to route a channel from the top horn down to where the control cavity will be then ill route the control cavity then glue the maple top on. NO pics as of yet i jsut haev to get a hold of my parents camera will hopefully have them up tomorrow. And btw i got my hands on a nice piece of rosewood

    well as for the scale length I was either gonna do 25 or 25.5 i havent completely made up my mind....i will probably be using 11's or 12's for the strings. What kind of strings are you using on your 7?

    Well I am about to start my second build this monday in woodwork at school this is my first post here I would like to put some pics of my 6-string bass i built when I can possibly enter guitar of the month....BUT for the time being here are the Specs on the V -Randy rhoads style V with reverse headstock -7 strings -25 inch scale length -Chrome Hardware -Mahongany body w/maple top -5 piece neck of maple and black walnut -Bolt on neck -Rosewood fretboard -One EMG-707 PU with just a Vol, and Tone knobs -The color is yet to be decided but will be either Black or white As i said before this is my second build and im only 16 i will hopefully have some pics up of everything witihin the next week
