  6. Very cool Wez,you might go to a pottery place and make some fine clay dots, have them fired and see what kinds of stuff comes out.Clay dots should just be clay dots,I would think.
  7. Hey Teal, now you know you are glad your parents had you, hell I met them and their a couple of nice guys.I'll be your huckleberry, and just so your not confused this is a forum not a blog. You come on here and state your inability to buy a guitar body, fine. You speak and feel we should just jump on your ride.I'am not impressed ,most the crap you post is cry baby dribble anyway. So ,in parting ..How about yous STFU ,now go into your file and post more of your pre-written dribble.
  8. Amiee, you could be a wind talker, hahaha. Looking forward to seeing that Washburn saved.
  9. I almost cried reading this story, you didn't get what you thought you bought.Sight unseen to top it off,Really. Is the world coming to a end?Next time you are in dought about a item you want to buy ,pick up a phone or send a e-mail and ask some questions,it has always been buyer beware. We all have stories of disappointment dealing with vendors, live and learn. It is ok to complain ,but we get it after the first sentence.Good luck in the future.
  10. +1 Scotty. I do have three trained beavers,if needed tho.
  11. Wow,wowzer,wowarenia,holly wow,love it.hahahaha
  12. Wow ,can I take her out on a date? That is very nice,I like the wood knobs myself, but would not complain with the other.
  13. Still loving this thing...it will have the demon mojo when done,I still see them in the top.hahaha
  14. Man, Snoop an't got nothing on me.When I was growing up we called it cutting.I was one bad ,long hair, southern, white boy...I could cut people to pieces. This was way before rap came to be.Float like a butterfly ,sting like a bee, rumble young man rumble...AAAAaaaa I could make Shaft blush, and he was a bad mother#@$.One ,two ,three, baby you and me,and a well spent quater keeps me free.I whoops him bad masser,he not come back no's more.Your girl said she loves you best, cept maybe for that circus fellow.hahaha
  15. This is a sweet tele, the control cover is the only thing I would change.Just me ,but I think a solid color would be better.
  16. Scotta, I give it two thumbs up with a Z snap and a loved it on top.Your stuff is the snizzel, keep it comming.
  17. 1928,Very nice build...first one ,wow.If you choose to ,you will be a very good guitar builder.Looking forward to your next build, best of everything to you in the future.
  18. Scotttaaaa, this thing is schweeeeet.Love all the shaping ,heck ,just everything is just right on ,BABY ...haaha Only question I have ,is ,how is the weight on it?Also might want to let a few people in here know ,the term crotch wood is not what they think.hahaha Looking forward to seeing this one finished.
  19. If I am reading this right ,get the two bigger pieces of wood all ready to be joined. Then ,laminate them ,hanging over and matching the laminate where the wood joins. You can just sand off the hang over and you are ready to go.
  20. I don't usually say much on the GOTM,or in the forumn for that matter. One thing that keeps me quite is all the different ways to do something and the out come being a great guitar. The minds of the people are formed as to prefer one or another, that is what makes us who we are.I learned not to argue with people unless it was life threating.long as the job gets done and done to satisfaction ,I could care less how they got there. To master something takes a lot of time, and trial. This month is a group of really good builds....I picked the Swed...I like blues and I don't own one, just a beautiful job.The body style is really cool ,too.Would love to own it. The rest of the builds are great also, I just like his this time around.Funny ,but if we could all hold and play them, maybe we would pick a different one. After all guitars are ment to be played not looked at.Cost and looks do not a guitar make.It is the sound and playability that make it a keeper. My hat is off to all the builds on this forumn,to me it is like ,if you got the balls to show it ,it is worth looking at. We all agree to disagree from time to time....but we all agree to rock on.hahaha ps. you do know ,you can watch and read till the end of time...you still will not know all there is to making a great guitar. You can come as close as anyone tho with time and practice.
  21. Scottttttty, this build is nice.If or when I do another build ,it will be in the les paul style.everything in this build is going together like a fine suit.Look forward to seeing it finished. Ron
  22. Floating and not attaching hardware to the top is in the vain of not having anything interfear with the soundboard ( top ).Could just be voodoo, but it is worth the try. Also by floating the top,it can move with temp.changes,no glue will be used on the top.Well that is the idea.Having said all that,it feeds my need to do things a little different. If it does not get me what I want, I will redo it again.I also guess it will make working on any of the hardware a little easyer, kinda like attaching everything to a pickguard. Thanks for the interest....Ron
  23. Just a update, got the pegs that hold the top in place hafe way there. still a lot more to do, but you can see where I am going with it.I put a light coat of tung oil on the top, just to keep it protected a little, still more shaping and sanding to do.This guitar is going to be pretty light.I will weight it when done.Well more updates to come.
  24. Scootty, thanks for the comment, yep flesh and blood always make wood shape better.hahaha I forgot to mention, I am using bone on the neck ,on the pickguard, and some on the body.I am shaping the hickory pegs right now,to hold the spruce top on.The idea is to let the top kinda float with nothing attached directly to the top.The top will be about 1/8 th thick in places. The carving is all by hand ,and sandpaper, expecially the thumbs.haha Here's a couple more pics. Lots more to go.
  25. Here is a bit of a update, with thumb damage included. As you can see the bit was a little dull, skipped under the nail a little. The spruse top will be floating when done, it will be held in with hickory pegs. The body has been hollowed out deep to shollow and shollow to deep. There will be a benedtto pickup on the pickguard at the neck and two tedesto pickups bridge and middle. There will be two input jacks ,one for the neck pickup and one for the bridge and middle. Still quite a bit to go ,still shaping the top, making the pegs, etc, but I think it is going pretty good so far.Let me know what you think ,any pros or cons or questions.
