  3. personally I am not a big fan of the color choice on perrys. I do like the back of his guitar thats very pretty. I saw brian has not been on since the 20th so someone should pm him... not it.

  6. I think you should hold off.... I thought i had a chance this month
  7. When the F did you get that thing running? Where are the progress pics on setting that up. so very very cool. How many bodies did you run through before gettting it right? awesome. -Derek
  8. my first was a les paul, done with a chisel and a scroll saw. It was painful. I would recommed a tele or something flat and bolt on. I would build a body first then try building a neck. Cheap necks can be bought on ebay, and your first guitar should be done with no expectations, since it is learning exp, specially if you have no woodworking exp.
  9. here is my latest. Maple Burl top. One Piece basswood body. All Maple 1 piece neck, migthymight.... watco wipe on poly. very thin coats but shiny, more so than what one would expect. Fender standard pickups. nice and bright, not happy with the pickups though. Gosh its hard to take good pics... 1 more pic: http://www.bigdguitars.com/sep/t6.jpg
  10. I may dump the big one. Its nice and all of that but wife is not sooooo happy with it. This smaller one I can get into the basement.... I like replacing the motors since I know its new and don't have to worry about it at all. Plus some motors are cheaper than others. I may just find a motor with the same shaft size and rig it so it fits correctly With a phase converter, I need 6 gauge to the garage... I can't run another line. -Derek

  13. I am looking for a 203c motor. I need a single phase 220 1-2 hp 3450 rpm. Grainger and ebay nada.... 203c frame motor. You would not believe what I got... -Derek
  14. lol I guess you are right on with that burl I sent you... email me back. I like comments on my stuff it make me a better builder. I don't need comments from people who really don't get it. Its noise vs good feedback. boy I am getting annoyed with my own posts... how stupid is that? Anyway buy my stuff... http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZbigdguitars
  15. I know what a lot of you mean. I had that same sort of LGM fustration, last week. If I was not making money or if customers didn't want I wouldn't sell it, I win some auctions I loose others. All my prices are market driven, how many people you see list stuff at a penny? People pay what they want. Side story, I bought a blues brothers poster a couple of years ago. i thought it was an original/ didn't matter to me if it was. I paid almost 270 bucks for a 10 reprint. Some dude was mifffed that spent the same amount. He wanted to file a complaint. I said I would have paid 500+ I wanted this poster for so long never have seen it again. I knew what I wanted and got it. People pay what they want. I didn't ask the guy back for 250 bucks, since it cost him all of 2 bucks to make... Its like people want to comment when they don't have anything to say but still say something, thats the fustration. I offer deals, I offer refunds, I call it as I see it, in my world. I have made some mistakes and learned from them. I know what I sell and I do a pretty good job at it.
  16. where did you get cuban mahogany? I have some but its been in the country before the embargo. Always wanted to work with it.
  17. ah the power of the internet!!! awesome. maybe you guys can start a business together, call you the metal bros guitar shop? or maybe pointy things guitars?
  18. the coolest thing with these blanks... The guy who bought them is Rick Nielsen business partner, they are opening a guitar shop in Rockford IL.
  19. not to be an ass, but when was the auction section open to comments? buy it or don't. I have the piece of wood in my hands, I know what its worth. All my auctions get refunds if they are not happy so what gives?
  20. not in the mood Godin. 600 positives? been selling wood for 5+ years.... and you know how much about figured wood?
