  1. sorry for that, this thread got mixed in my head with the sustainer one, wich uses a lm386 and has not a buffer section... still i hold my question. would a normal pickup with 10's strings be able to be used with that chip without the buffer section?? i am an ignorant pain
  2. hi, ansil, did you remove the transistor because you were using another kind of preamplification or active pick ups, or it is just because you could just drive the lm386 with passive pick ups alone, is it posible anyway?
  3. wow, really nice looking.... something like that i had in mind
  4. does anyone know where i can find some plans, currently it's only curiosity, but could turn into an easy project (no carving right?) like an intro to bending sides. XD
  5. mmmmm... i have reached the conclussion that it must be something wrong with the model i'm using so i'll try to get another one.
  6. i'm using electronics workbench multisim version 7.
  7. dude, i tried everything except building it. And it happende with other diagram, it was the preamp fitted in the electra guitars, i tried to simulate it with identical results. maybe it is because of the signal i feed it with, if i had to simulate a guitar with a sine signal what values would it have (frequenzy and voltage), i don´t know if this is meant to make a difference but i would like to try XD thanx
  8. so, little or not an idea about electronics, but i put this circuit in my simulation software: j-fet preamp and when i simulate it using a signal generator and an oscilloscope to visualize the input and output signal the output signal is way much smaller than the input.... what is it???
  9. that is it then. it's just the parts to build the mc tube II european version. so i just use the outer ends and get 12 V from a 6-0-6 thanx a lot
  10. i ordered from a shop two transformers, 12 V and 18V, and i´ve been sent 6-0-6 and 9-0-9 how are they used to have 12V and 18V, cos if i´ve been sent that is because it can be used, or am i not that ignorant about electronics and i've just been cheated
  11. really thanks for all the input. just talked with the guy at the shop and told me more or less the same, i really don't dare to do it myself for the time being, so i will take it to him and ask to make it sound thicker and bassier and to get the diodes out for a try xD just a question to see if i have understood anything from all the schematics i've looked at: is it that diode configuration meant to make a distortion, cos it reminds me of the distortion pedals?
  12. no there isn't, i found the schematics if you wanna have a look (doesn't say much to me ) preamp poweramp edit: no, these are not, these are 2210 and i own 4210 ouch
  13. got this nasty problem with my marshall jcm 800 4210, it´s the dual channel version and i really hate it not being clean on the clean channel, i mean, if i turn the volume louder than one it starts to distort and i ain´t no electronic guru, but neither got the money yet to take it to the shop. i wanted to know, maybe it's the preamp valve's that are driving the output stages too hard, or is it just preamp distortion, i would swear it's a different distortion than in the boost channel... so bad ear :DB) anyway, can anybody help me with this, i want a clean channel
  14. done, finished at last....... time for and so, i´m building ruby in a new board but recycling most of the components. i´ll probably make photos and mp3's when i finish, thanx for all the input.
  15. lol. i'm sorry i haven't been around here for a time, and i'm happy to see so much interest, see if tomorrow i can write a little more about the schematics you've posted, but i think the main problem was the signal level from the pickups, i will try and put a npn preamp before the chip. i'm going back to study..... ..... tomorrow is my last exam, so i will have some time to fool around with the solder XD thanx
  16. parts, kits, guitars and some wood (nearly none) Rockinger but good shipping fees
  17. i cheked the cables and conexions and they were all working, the mp3 i plug it through a mono plug (dunno if matters) and both guitars sound through my working amp. about the signal volume... well this has lead me to doubts, cos i can't really hear nothing, but maybe it is amplifying really really softly. anyhow i don't think this may happen with the acoustic as it has a preamp and i've tried turning it full volume.
  18. hi dudes, i built this little thing: lm386 amp and it works perfectly when i plug in my mp3 player. but when i plug in my guitars, may it be the electric or the acoustic, i can't hear anything could it be something concerning impedance, cos i ain't got a clue ¡ i would apreciate any input bye
  19. well, some of the things i bought for my first guitar where that brand, but i only got the tom bridge and few things more, doesn´t look bad. btw, it´s all made in japan, here is where i see the stuff before asking for it in the local shop: boston
  20. well, i just wouldn't if i were making a living of it.
  21. and i wonder.... is there anyhow to get one of those headless system separately, i seem to have found one in a spanish web page, but it doesn't even look nice and costs 300$. any idea?? you just left me willing to own one
  22. man , just put it upside down, big booobies intead of ass besides... anything against fat people ???
  23. just something that came to my mind: can the crackle be achieved on just a portion of the body, i mean, like a fade but with crackles think it would look cooooool
  24. i have a little problem with the lm386 circuit that i hope you can help me with. i just finished it in a predrilled board(don't know if that is the exact name) and i am powering it with a battery, but it picks A LOT of noise. how can i solve this problem? maybe placing a filter at the input of the signal? i would really thank any input. if it gets to work propperly i will make a tutorial
  25. you can have 30 watts inside a cigarrete box( but forget about fitting a power supply in, or batterie supply) with an ic like the tda's search the net for a tda2004 or alike hope it helps, the specification sheets have a sample diagram for each one
