  1. What is the thickness of vaneer?? And spill the beans on the proper way to laminate it!! F1sh
  2. Alex, your nuts, those trems are still one of the best made for tone and function IMO. Mine never go out of tune, it's all about the set up. Locking bridges sound like **** too. =p
  3. What do you all use for nut slotting. I have a set of small files, but they're still a bit too big (IMO). Just wanted to see what everyone else used.
  4. I've been using spray can laquer, and it's very sensitive to temp. it spits and spits when it's cold. my guitar would be done if it wasn't for the damn cold basement (only place i can spray). Got a heater, gonna let it warm up a bit and try to finish my tele this week, i'll post some pics when it's done.
  5. I chose fender, but only for their vintage RI stuff. As far as Jackson being owned by fender, Jackson was already going down the tube(like every other big mass production company) as far as quality. I'm really saddened to walk into music stores and see nothing but $200 JUNK on the walls. None of it plays well, none of it sounds good (to me), and it's taking the place of the $1000-$2000 type guitars i want to try out. Granted, if i'm gonna blow that much cash on a guitar, it's going to be vintage! =D I guess in hindsight i should have voted other and chose Godin. those are some DAMN FINE guitars, but again, they really don't fit in the big prodution company catagory. 6. i can already see it now, all black tele, ebony board, white music note inlays, see through black curly top, white hardware... i'm droolin.
  7. lookin for any 325 bridge. building my Girlfriends daughter a guitar, and thought "if 'm gonna build a short scale guitar, i'm gonna build it with some class." My girlfriend loves John too. =p
  8. need a High Res 50's fender logo to finish up my tele, anyone help me out? Thanks, F1sh
  9. DOn't know if your done yet, but if not, what i'm doing with my tele, to keep everything OFF of the pickguard is a trick my buddy who is a luthier told me. Then pickup mounting ring screws from gibson style rings fit into the mounting holes of the pickups without messing up the threads. (this was an important point for me, i hate when people ruin pickups by stripping/drilling the mounting holes) http://www.stewmac.com/cgi-bin/hazel.cgi?a...atalog/sku.html thats a link to stewmac's mounting ring screws.
