Carves in the back and clean out control cavity. Mostly done with the rebuild just a bunch of routing left. -

Everything I have used on this guitar was scrap or destined for the trash bin. SO to keep the theme alive I am using the two sample veneers that came with the last order of veneer, Free flamed maple is always good. Glued the veneer and the back on at the same time because I am impatient. More pictures of clamps. -

Also going to cut out the neck pocket. Any excuse to use my Japanese saws I can find. Then the trim router. -

Looks pretty good. I am going to quickly rough cut the top so the veneer and back are easier to glue on. I started with the dragon rasp on the butt and the inner horns. -

I decided to plug up all the holes before putting the top on. I am probably going to change where the bridge sits and the string routes. Better safe than sorry. Because I am working on voodoo I use the plug cutter to cut maple plugs with the grain running the right direction. I hate trying to redrill posts in end grain. Going to close all these -

Headstock cleaned up and reshaped (shorten the point and less exaggeration in the curves) . I might make a few more changes later. -

The body was swamp ash and didn't weigh enough to offset the neck. I am adding some heavier ash and lengthening the top horn to offset that. The bottom horn was unfortunate and I will repair it as well. -

Buffed out my 1990 Ibanez 570FM (Japan Only) body (picture is before buffing). The guitar was a mess. My brother brought it home from Okinawa for me and the salt water air did horrible things to it. I am trying to revive it as best I can with all the original parts. The screws are all a mess. I soaked them in Vinegar/Salt to break up the rust (also removes the cosmic black) but some can not be saved. The pots were corroded and seized up. The input jack was toast as well. Anyway I repotted the V1/V2 pickups today and will probably clean up the neck tomorrow. I will post more on it as I get things done. -

Headplates should match up to the fretboard. When I finished it fit tight. No telling how far it slid during glue up. Normally I would pin the headplate in the excess but since I don't really have excess and this is just messing around oh well.
