  1. To give a neck more forward bow/relief, is the truss rod to be turned towards the Low E string, ie. counter-clockwise when looking at it from the guitar body? Just wanted to check before I try and fix some horrible fret buzz on my new pacifica 812v.. ps. and yes I know not to turn the rod more than a 1/4 turn a day, a rather less..
  2. You could just stick one of these: http://www.biltema.fi/osteri/osteri.cgi?tu...070314074690840 into each of the outputs. I'm not totally sure if it works, but it would mean two speakers per speaker output.
  3. A great backing track site is http://www.guitarbt.com .. You have to register to get access to the files though, but registration is free. The tracks are mostly created by the members, but they sound great. 1000+ backing tracks and alot of tracks for jamming.
  4. In Finland we are offered 24 MBit ADSL and it costs about 60-70 euros (~100 dollars) a month. We pay 45 euros a month for 8 MBit ADSL. In Sweden 24MBit ADSL costs about 250 kronor a month, which is about 30 dollars.
  5. You can take a look at the instruments on the site linked to in the following thread: http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=16815
  6. Thanks a lot. Good that the volume is loud also. .. I might use similar values then.. thanks.
  7. thanks. What is the volume of your boxes?
  8. just to add, different pot values give different sounds. If I remember correctly higher value --> Brighter sound.
  9. OK. But do you think you could answer my original two questions .. I still think I'll be making a 2*12 closed back, because of physical and economic reasons. Thanks for your help though.
  10. Number 25 is a moose skull (if you didn't understand from the name), and the bridge is made from the brake section of a bicycle. Neck is made out of Maple, Hazel and Merbau.
  11. Found this site, unfortunately in Finnish, but there are some pictures of instruments made of some crazy stuff. Click Here Press "Kierrätyssoittimet" under "K.N." .. Number 21 is quite amusing
  12. Stupid me. So, yes, I'm not totally sure on the exact amp yet as it will be bought this summer, but it will be an all-tube classic to hard rock head. That is the style of music as well. Been looking at Ashdown's heads and used Marshalls.
  13. I'm sorry if this has been asked, but the search didn't give me any answers. I was thinking of building myself a 1*12, one 8 ohm speaker, or a 2*12 cab, with two 16 ohm speakers in parallel. I have two questions: 1. Is a cabinet simply a input jack --> speaker hot --> speaker neg --> neg to ground? Or are there any more electronics in between. 2. I have no idea how to calculate the volume of the box with the help of these values given for the speaker(s): click here (scroll down to the Thiele-Small Parameters) I don't know yet whether it will become a sealed or open cabinet. Which one would suit better for these speakers? Anyways I'll be thankful for any replies.
  14. Well my tuners on my nylon-stringed acoustic have started acting wierdly. Some are very tight, and hardly 'screwable', while others are very loose, making it hard to tune correctly. Does anyone know why this is happening, or how I could fix it?
  15. I think they are cheaper versions of the Seymour's.. don't know if they are any good.. ..but Kent pickups are really nice, I recommend...
  16. It often happens to me that when I have come up with a great riff or lick, and then play it to a friend, he says 'that sounds exactly like blablabla by the blablas'.. and I have never heard of that band or song... I think that almost all riffs and a great number of licks have featured in some songs, either well known or unknown, but I don't think it really matters unless you make an exact copy of the 'original'..
  17. Does anyone know when the boss copies are gonna be available?
  18. www.universaljems.com, and you'll help out PG at the same time. edit: I just remembered that he doesn't have Les Paul necks
