1. NO! do NOT filp the blade! you know that little bearing that the back of the blade runs up against when to much foward pressure is on the blade, well imagian that not being there. And the blade breaking and sending your arm half way across the room. I used a 9incher and it took some monuvering, but it worked fine. jig saw, and a drum sander (or flush cut router bit) will work ok, but much better to use a bandsaw. if you use a jig saw, the blade has a tendancy to wonder, and you will need to get a high grade blade from the hardware store. and also, give you jigsaw a break every now and then when cutting a body, thats a whole lot of stress on the poor thing.
2. quite painless infact. but it ate up 30 seconds I could have been using to clip my toe nails.
3. Hey, thanks for that! its very helpful! I will most likley use a 35" bass side, and 34" trebel side. maybe more of a difference, but i dont want the bridge to be too angled. this bass is only going to have between 19 and 21 frets. and truss rod is at the bridge end of neck.
4. Yes people, PLEASE get rid of those annoying big sigs!! Jazz is not too bad, but I don't like to read it in big red words every couple of lines, you know what I mean? Just an example.. no offence Oh, sorry. I didnt know that bothered anybody. ill fix er up
5. Yeah, i think your right. I did some more diggin and that seems about right. im gong to expirment with it a little later. thanks
6. Times are a changin' still the same PG i dont care what happens, as long as there is still a nice place to talk about guitars.
7. well my goodness, i should hope you will... thats a huge violation.
8. If you want, I have a broken phat head overdrive (for bass) you may be able to use some of the parts.
9. hahahaha, clerks right? yah, that all sounds good. When will it take effect?
10. That is what i plan on doing, but the fanned fret system is a little bit different. The frets 'fan' as oppose to just being different scales. Well, thats how it looks from pictures ive seen.
11. oooh, well getting rid of them compleatly is a good idea. thanks for shedding light. maybe we should put all this up to a vote?
12. a dan electro bass (stock) my friend got, had a built in chorus. Is that the kind of thing you are after?
13. i think cleanin up a bit is a good idea, but your taking this overboard. I mean, getting rid of rant section is one thing. (one bad one i may add) but resetting posts, banning members cause they say the wrong thing, all of that is just dumb as hell *i suspose im allowed to say hell, or are you going to "send me on a vacation"* one of the reasons so many people come here, is because its a place where you can just let loose and talk about your guitar woes, and how to fix them. If we all wanted a mother/father figure standing over us ready to spray some soppy water in our mouths, we would go over to the MIMF.
14. yah, i decided to do a multi scale, becaue i dont have the 70 bucks. And i can only do a fannd fret if they send me info about the fret measurments (which by they way i cant find ANYWHERE) cant wait to get started on it!
15. well, i sent you a 30$ check... should be there in a few ps good luck saving up
16.
Matt Freeman
thats why i started playing. Thoes persuasive licks from Operation Ivy did wonders to my playing ability.
17. Cracking knuckles does nothing bad to them. I asked me pops a few years back (and hes a *real* docter). All it is is a release of air from your joints, or so ive been told. sometimes, I do major bending (off of the fret, so it chokes, and i use that as a precussive technique) and my pinkey gets it the worst, but I have one of thoes hand strentheners i got off of musicians friend and i work that thing all day during class. So my hand is much stronger now, and i dont have nearly as much problems.
18. I was talking to him on AIM and he got the guitar for 0.01$ and 34.99$ for shipping. So I advised him to scrap it, sell it at a pawn shop, or strip it for parts, and sell them on ebay. another day gone by, another problem solved.
