  1. Oh ya one more thing lose that bridge I just dont think it look's right on that guitar try a schaller or a floyed rose or mabe a Gotoh vintage style tremolo and new pickup's EMG's would work and look great!! !!METAL MATT!!
  2. This one look's like fun any way take your pic's to [www.Photobucket.com] its a great place they will host your pic's for you and it's free. if you want to restore the guitar back to it's former glory then the head stock must be restored but if your just fixing it up so that it's looking good again leave the headstock the way it is well mabe just a bit of rework. I think it could look good again so good luck and keep us posted!! !!METAL MATT!!

  5. Base body?? not sure what you mean like the back of the guitar, any way I never realy liked basswood but It's your guitar and I think that flat and contoured would look best but that's me as for thickness I like thick tops!! !!METAL MATT!!

  9. Any new progress to report!! !!METAL MATT!!
  10. Good idea I was going to try that as well but I never got around to it any way will you be useing metal or wood for this one. If you do use metal I think that the guitar would look best with black paint and you could do a stainless steel look I think it would add to that tough look but just an idea !!METAL MATT!!
  11. Ya curly maple would be the best on this one and I've been thinking emerald green for the top I love that deep dark green color something about it just get's me going. !!METAL MATT!!
  12. Nice!! looks good sofar, I like the electronics cavity it's tight and clean. !!Good work!! !!METAL MATT!!

  14. Oh that would make sense that would be a great idea I could realy use the info if your friend has any progress pics if so you should post them for all to see and learn from. !!METAL MATT!!
  15. well I just have a few bits of info for you I hope it help's, you could use a drum/spindal sander to shap the scallopes iam not sure if you need a list of the tool's just for the archtop/scallopes or a list of tool's you will need to build a whole guitar? so get back to me and I'll try to help a bit more. !!METAL MATT!!
  16. Cool thanks for the link!! Iam going to go with the Purpleheart and Bubinga but not with this design Iam working on an JTG Infinity rough copy electric guitar and the wood's go great with the design and its the look i want for that guitar. Back to the guitar at hand I like the Bubinga for the back but i think maple would look the best for the top since I just got some realy great dye that works well with maple and I would like to try some cool new colors, it will take more time to get some good quality figured maple but it should be worth it!! !!METAL MATT!!
  17. The warlockington??:huh:I havent seen that one yet, the name sounds cool do you have any pics posted on the forum? !!METAL MATT!!
  18. Wow beautiful guitar I like the black finish Ive tryed to do a black finish like that and I failed every time. tell your friend that he dose great work!! !!METAL MATT!!
  19. Sounds cool!! that might work well if you can find them in Stainless Steel. have you done any more work to the body yet? !!METAL MATT!!
  20. Good point if it inspires me to do it do it.where is this post sounds like something that might be worth looking at any way I have some purpleheart and it look's good with the buinga but i've never worked with buinga and iam not sure of the tonal characteristics that it would have when put with purpleheart do you know anything about it? Thanks !!METAL MATT!!
  21. That's realy cool!! this forum is the best thing that i've seen on the web as far as building guitars go's any way I went to the shop where I buy my wood and I was given about 100$ worth of buinga for some work I did on a guitar that the owner built any way I think I should use some of it for the back of a few for my guitars but mostly this one it's a very nice light redish color and for the top maybe some maple or purpleheart but iam thinking purpleheart since maple is so hard to come buy up hear in saskatoon but what do you think? thanks !!METAL MATT!!
  22. Yep If I build it I would go with a string thru bridge, EMG's, push\pull volume pot but iam not to sure witch one I will build maybe both of them I think I should I love all the idea's that have come out of all this now I have like 5 or 6 guitars on the go or runing thru my mind this is realy cool!! !!METAL MATT!!
  23. Well hears an idea for you press fit tuner bushings I have used them before on one of my flying-V's and they work and look great!! but may find them a bit to large now something else i've done is i've used those sewing ferrules there the exact same thing but much smaller I think you can get them in most any sise and color iam not realy sure what there realy named but you can get them at any sewing store I will try to get some more info on them if you like. !!METAL MATT!!
  24. what type of pic's do you need pic's of the warlock itself or dimension pic's of the warlock?? try www.nealmoser.com he has a few pic's of a warlock that might help. !!METAL MATT!!
