  4. sweet christ, i didnt mean to start this much of a contraversie. I was just gonna do the les paul for one, im gonna do a serious les paul with mohogany for neck and back, was just curious what the sound would be of an all maple and if the look would be appealing. I have a hard time seeing things till they are totally built.
  5. Does this process go for all plastic binding?
  6. I kinda thought it would be a bad idea, just wondered if anyone has every seen one, what do you guys mean by harsh, like what exactly kinda tone would come out of the thing.
  7. Just curious if anyone has ever seen an All Maple Les Paul? Im gonna make a les paul for my next project just wondering what everyone would think of one. It would be Ultra curly maple top Semi curly maple body Ultra curly maple neck Opinions? Yes? No? Also anyone got an idea what kinda tone would come out of the thing?
  8. Also, what kind of glue go u guys use? just ca? im using the stew mac glue and its hell to work with and gets everywhere.
  9. While im at it i will ask this, how do you guys bind your fretboards Do you use one piece and wrap it around, or cut off back and glue it one, then glue the sides over it? Cause i did the 2nd method listed and i dont knwo if im making things way to harder then they have to be. I actually glued the sides first and then the back, did i do it wrong?
  10. Yeah next problem i didnt think about is glow time, lol i dont want to do this fancy inlay and have it last like two days ya know lol... hmmmm apparently taht alsa corp stuff last ten times longer then any other glow product.
  11. I bought some bat inlays for my first project that i never used, im gonna use then sooner or later, they are really wicked looking. I bought them on ebay, i will look and see if i can find the seller again.

  15. What grit should i start and end with? Remember i have to sand leds down with it...
  16. I definitely want some pics!!! I wanna build a les paul and if i could get figured mohog and maple for that price im definitely ordering from them. I ordered from macbeth down in san fran and the dude on the phone said "well we have some really nice figured curly maple" so i got it and it wasnt hardle figured at all.... I was very upset.
  17. I have both my necks bound and now its time to get rid of the extra. Here is my question, should i use a binding scraper or sandpaper and a fretboard radiusing block? I was gonna use a board and a block becuase i have led's that need to be sanded down and the whole fretboard in general needs to be radiused, but i didnt know if i should scrap the binding first and then go back with sandpaper. If so how sharp should the binding scrapper be, i bought one from stew mac and im not sure if it came sharpened or not (i know i sound like a moron, but im new to binding) if i use sandpaper what grit do i strat and end with?.... thanks
  18. I like how perfect square the pickup cavitys are, they look really nice.
  19. take a look at this 20 bucks for the inly and 35 for a cnc'd fretboard so 55 for the set and all u ahve to do is glue it in radius it and fret it not bad... for all those out there who want the ibanez tree of life but cant lnlay. Me myself however, im going to just buy the tree of life template and learn to inlay it myself.

  21. I want one of these three amps. I would like the 100 or the 130 head more, but i can settle for the 80.
  22. I know spokeshaves are usally used but anyone else find any other tools that really work good for contouring the back and arm rest? Im about to tackle mine with a surform and some files.
  23. I agree also, why would u want to buy a beat up guitar? I would just play it till it got beat up its self, i like relics, i think they look badass, but i hate pre relic'd relics lol if that makes since lol.
