  1. I ordered from a similar auction. Stuff looks good i wont lie, however you better be pro at inlaying, the stuff is so thin. About the thinkness of card stock (3 sheets of binder paper together)
  2. Well, got the plans. I dont know if i want to build it like he has it or use linear bearings like ive seen myka and other guys do. Linear bearings are way more expensive, but do look a little bit nicer. Does anyone use this thing for necks yet? Thats my main reason for building one is neck duplicating. What bits you guys use? and what get the best results? Also where do you guys get yoru stylis at? In the plans he says you can make them, but i also say guitarfrenzy say he bought his at terrco but i couldnt find them on the site.
  3. I would do it but, i dont have what styles you are looking for. I have an explorer, a jem, and a flying v template.
  4. Just to let you know you posted in the wront section, this is the tutorials and reference, you want the regular inlay and finishing thread. But seeing how i saw the topic i will tell you to read my current thread. HERE I explain how to do get a mirror finish, and if you wanted it cracked then u would take it and cut it up on the band saw then piece it back together when u glue it.
  5. i will be glueing my fretboard on tomarrow. Then im its spring break, in which i will be taking home my body and putting the binding around it. Im also giong to order plans for the copycarver and either build it over spring brake or wait till i get back to school and do it there.
  6. I was giong to buy them, i wanted to know if anyone else had any other sets of plans with different building structure and what not to them, i like to get my hands on as many plans as possible and combine them to make the ultimate machine, perhaps this time however that just wont work.
  7. A friend got that for me, its no doubt, on of my favorite bands.
  8. Haha thanks man, i just hope i can win GOTM when i enter it.
  9. Here are the pics, as you can tell the mirror is very shiny, i will post one with no flash and link to one with a flash (you can already see the fingerprint smers in the flash one) Other Pics of it Non flash #2 Flash #1 Flash #2
  10. Should i use ca or clear expoxy to glue? Its pearloid binding btw.
  11. Is it just me or did that not make since to anyone lol. I know he isnt very good at english (no offense ment) but did anyone understand what he said?
  12. Im giong to a local commuitee college to get my AS degree, then im already been contacting and setting up plans to go to GIT down in L.a to go there and get a certificate/degree in guitar building
  13. In that case does anyone have the boughten plans they would send me? i want to see a couple things about them, im going to add a couple of my own touches to the project.
  14. I can only find one set of them and they want 20 bucks for them. I was hoping there were multiple places that had them so i could take the best aspects of all of them and combine them. Anyone know any other places? Or just any place i can get them for free?
  15. Which is easier and better to use, im gonna do the binding for the jem this week and its my first time with binding so i dont know which to do.
  16. yes, BRIAN (the owner of pg) runs universal jems as well. COMMON GUYS, ITS BRIAN..................
  17. The binding channel is cut, and i will be installing the binding sometime this week. I pulled off the protective plastic cause it was falling off anyway, and wow is all i can say. The mirror is definately a mirror lol, thing is crystal clear and i love it. Im gonna try to take a few photogrpahs, but i know it will be impossible to get good pics of it with out me in it lol. Ill post them later.
  18. Very nice job man, enter it in the GOTM and ill be voting for it. I love the amount of class it has to it.
  19. I agree with you, its acutally sucks as im building the thing to think that it wont ever get played, but my shop teacher has thought me for the past four years of my life, his is more then just teacher to me, he is a friend. He helped me a lot when i build my first guitar, so i thought id give something back . Btw thanks for the compliments.
  20. Im trying something different, i have decided yet, there will be no arm rest for sure, ive never really liked them to tell u the truth, just feels funny to be honest, i might do a tummy curve, i thing it would look cool doing two different woods for a tummy curve, but i also love the feel of my guitars without tummy curves. Its going to be a gift in which will never acutally get played to be honest, its for my shop teacher, he would put it in a glass case and just have it as sentament.
  21. Here is a pic update of the body that ive been working on for the past couple of days. It has the maple on the back now as i said, and the sides are sanded and ready to be trimmed for the purfling. Tomarrow will be truss rod route day.
