screamo and metalcore are different
screamo - hardcore mixed with pop punk. ex: glassjaw, funeral for a freind, poison the well, atreyu
and ill continue with some more if you feel like arguing
pop punk - poo from a worm infested, dying elefant. ex:good charlotte, yellowcard, story of the year
nwobhm - black sabbath/led zepplin tuned to 11. ex: judas preist, iron maiden, iced earth, dream evil.
power metal - pop-metal. ex:twisted sister, whitesnake, great white, motley crue
pop - see pop-punk. ex: brittney spears, cristina aguilara
punk - hard rock with songs built out of 3 chords. ex: sex pistols, ramones, pennywise
hard rock - rock with a tad of a metal feel. ex: creed, submersed, 3 days grace, etc.
rock - speedier blues turned to 11. ex: black sabbath, led zepplin
(im getting bored, are you?)
blues - ... ....... ..... ? ex: bb king, srv
.... .... - ???? ex. ?????
there... i got bored.. im done..
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
dude that is funny
lemme help you there since im a veteran in every branch of punk
punk: has nothing to do with any amount of chords because pennywise has about 10 chords in there songs, because ive played pennywise before, so anyway... subhumans, flux of pink indians, dayglo abortions
pop punk-music that sucks- good charlotte, mxpx, greenday
HAIR METAL (not power metal) : the bands you named
power metal: dragon force, sonata arctica, iced earth, demons and wizards, nightwish
nwobhm: judas priest, iron maiden, dio, motorhead, saxon
screamo: basically the stuff you named, but nowhere near hardcore
rock: led zepplin (funny how you called them nwobhm)
i think ill add in a few more if you dont mind...
crust (really dark sounding punk with lyrics about protesting, veganism, anything and everything politcal , mainly hippies: misery, axiom, nausea
prog metal: dream theater, spiral architect, spastic ink
thrash metal: metallica's first album only, forbidden, testament, kreator, hirax, some megadeth, hellkrusher (kind of crust),
arent we haveing fun. lemme go into some more detail too. but when did power metal change?? "hair" metal IS power metal. ive never heard of "crust". and hardcore changed man, just like every genre, pennywise sounds nothing like the old school punk bands. the forbidden sound NOTHING like metallica. hardcore changed, most people think of modern hardcore as "metalcore", but metalcore is a whole lot different. sick of it all used to be hardcore, i dont pay attention to them anymore, so i dont know what their new stuff is like. i hate genres anyways, as i said. i was kinda pigeon-holing punk, but most of their riffs are pretty simplistic. and the power metal band you were referring to, ive never heard any of them called that.. i dont really have a name for it, ive heard a name, but i cant think of it. and heres what i said about zepplin "nwobhm - black sabbath/led zepplin turned to 11" and prog metal slipped my mind
prog metal - prog rock taken that step further to be faster and harder with more pizzazy riffs and licks than a g3 tour. ex: into eternity, dream theater, opeth
nu-metal - rumble rumble, metal tuned way low, recycled riffs, and rap stylings are abundant ex: flaw, korn, limp bizkit, papa roach
of course you havent heard of crust, you obviously arent into enough punk to listen or hear of crust, power metal has never been hair metal anyway, and forbidden doesnt have to sound like metallica and i never said they did, theres different sounds to thrash, my man. exodus, kreator, forbidden, metallicas first album. plus, its FORBIDDEN , not THE FORBIDDEN, forbidden , get your thrash metal bands straight bud. no one cares about nu metal because it sucks and is over played, everyone knows what it is. the power metal bands i named are power metal, theres no doubt about it. power metal is melodic metal pertaining usually to dark ages/fantasy stuff. yes, music does change, but when what hardcore use to be goes to what it is now, thats not even hardcore any more. do yourself a favor and go listen to some hardcore bands... like spazz, floorpunch, discharge, mdc (thanks for reminding me drak) , also, go check out the power metal bands i named, go check out some crust bands too. we arent arguing, this is debating. i obviously know my music, im sure you do too
