  1. does your amp have a cd input?? if it does, then you hook a cd player up to it and hit play if not, put the amp on clean and plug the cd player into the input and hit play theres my 2 cents...
  2. black diamond 9's. they play grrrrrrreat
  3. i must say, that sucks. i use black diamonds, and ive had em on there for a good 6 months, ive only broken teh 1E string too, and thats because i was always changing the tuning of my guitar, and im using 9's.. so if that says anything...
  4. i dont really know much about the whole 60's and 70's prog, i know the basics: Yes, Floyd, Rush, Deep Purple, and the like, but i do know some cool new age ones, but they're more like "prog-metal" some cool ones: Into Eternity www.intoeternity.com dream theater (im sure most of the people on here already know about them) opeth (again i know) orphaned land atomship (im not sure if these guys are "prog" but theyve got some of that feel to them) dream evil (same as above, and theyve got the iron maiden/judas preist/ iced earth thing going) thats all i can think of off the top of my head
  5. well, watts to ohms is only a problem if youre doing a high watt amp, if youre going small like 100 or 120, 4 or 8 ohms'll do it, if you have to go any higher than that, your prolly gonna EDIT!!!!!! up whatever youre using anyways this is the third time in 3 days i have warned you about your language!more warning than you need.i am going to reccomend a vacation for you
  6. yea, i kinda got off track, ive never played on a vox so i cant help you there
  7. just a quick question. what is the virtual guitar program??? and the guitars gonna look bitchin when its done. good luck with it

    Tubes

well ill put my 2 cents in for the first question. ill play a solidstate anyday, tubes are warm, but they also have something about them that i think plays with your sound too much. my fav. ss' are definitly peavey's, they just have that "feel and touch" to them. i have my little bandit 112, and my marshall g100hcd, and even though the marshall sounds good, i prefer teh peavey. im actually gonna go buy a peavey dirty dog distortion pedal so i get some of that feel transfered. for the second question..... im not a big knowledge on tubes, but i hear the EL34 is the best.. dont take my opinion for it though, i dont know if ive even ever played on one, all i know is the best sounding tube amp ive ever used is the peavey jsx.. it plays beautifully
  9. I don't fully understand what that means? it is rated for 400 watts at 16 ohms i am on a fast connection and on a sunday when i have no parts to work on guitars i surf alot yea, that cab'll handle a LOT of power, that mix is nice too. but whats your price range?? maybe we'll be able to help a little bit more then
  10. check out the pignoses then. great sounding amps
  11. depends on how much money youre planning on throwing around. if youve got some decent cash sitting around, pignose make some nice ass low watt amps. but for less money, if you play distorted, those little itty bitty marshall 8 watt things dont sound half bad. ive actually played with a drummer using one of those.. crazy little edit i already said this once...watch your language
  12. lol, youve got a point, but my marshall is a crunch machine, given that its not the same model. and the crate is probably a better bet, considering the marshall is a low end model, but as i said, its your choice and preference
  13. ive got a marshall similar to that head, just without the dfx. its a crunch machine but it depends on what youre going for in your sound, if you want the high quality, marshalls your maker, if you want it to play louder the crate is your choice. the ibanez.... is...yea....its an iffy half stack
  14. forget every other suggestion heres the ultimate cover song queen- innuendo you best have some talent boy, but if you play it and play it good, youll win, i can pretty much guarantee it.. that song is all about talent... all about it edit watch the language please...this is a clean forum
  15. i have average fingers.. no huge streching, but i can move them freely...
  16. my first guitar was an epiphone acoustic was my first, sadly i broke the nut earlier this year though and havent gotten to replacing it my second guitar is my ibanex rg421, it sounds better than any guitar ive ever played on, and its got HOT pickups.. the v7 v8 combo.. who'da thunk it and last night i got me an old Kay f-hol style acoustic with no bridge and tail peice. it looks purty though so im going to fix her up
  17. wanna know something amusing. ibanez doesnt have any records of the model guitar i have, its less than 2 years old and ibanez doesnt have it listed as a guitar they have ever made. the rg421, if you dont believe me, check
  18. oh god, im sorry about accidentaly posting this 6 times. it kept saying it failed...sorry all
  19. i came into an old Kay f-hole style acoustic last night and i need to put a bridge on it and im pretty sure it needs a new neck. i need to know what i'm gonna have to get and maybe a website that carries the parts. also, can anyone identify the model or year of it from this pic?? thanks
