  1. Its really all about how you feel. People who play fast amd aim for speed and shredding want it low as possible. Others more concerned with rhythm and less lead opt for a higher action. Myself I like to meet somewhere in the middle ground. I have an ibanez which has extremely low action, i use the for more shreding and I have my les paul at a middle action for cool leads but also keep the rhythms very punchy
  2. BILL LAWRENCE XL 500 + C 500. I like to go very extremes of tone. On one side very treble, piercing and then straight to bright clean and smooth.
  3. awesome work guitar sounds really killer!!! love the conecpt of seeing the transition and then finally the most important thing - THE SOUND!
  4. I always like to keep it as simple as possible. Amp to guitar, little reverb. I like an amp with enough balls to go from sweet and clean to overwhelming brutality!

  6. I am going to hook up some EMGS to my new dinky body. They came with w/ a volume and tone pot connected with a capacitator. The volume and tone knobs cant stretch far enough to reach the holes to put them through. I wanted to know if there is a way to lengthen the capaitator. I was thinking to take the capacitator off and then add 2 peices of soder on both ends to lengthen it, then reconect it to both the volume and tone. I dont know if this would work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  8. I'm having a hard time getting the studs in for my jackson dk2 body. I dont want to hammer them in because it might damage them or the body. I was thinking maybe open up the hole a little but it sounds weird. Is there any other way I can get them in? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!!
  9. I have a San Dimas style body with some deep chips on the paint that go clear through till the wood is exposed. The body is black. I was thinking of filling in the chips with a wood putty, smoothing it out to the contour of the body, painting it black, then throwing on a lil touch up gloss. Is their a better method. I searched the site and havent found anything to great. Any help will be greatly apprecatied!
  10. Hey guys. I just scored an 80s japan made Charvel body. She has the San Dimas style to her with one bridge pickup, one volume knob and is routed for a floyd rose. I wanted to know how exactly to measure the neck heal so I can find a neck to fit it right. At the store the guy I bought it from threw on a telecaster style neck. That fit but didnt have the curve at the end to fit in like a glove. Im doing this baby over little by little. First the neck Then some pickups. Im thinking a bill lawrence XL500. Any suggestions? Also I dont know what kind of floyd to go with? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance guys.
  11. i know it hurts when a guitar gets hit but remember they add character! good luck
  12. I would say sand it off using different grades. start ruff then reduce down until its nice and smooth. I tries stripping a body with chemicals. Sometimes it works and certain spots it wont take. Good luck!

  14. Hey guys. I walked into Sam Ash the other day looking for a wireless system. Well I boughtthe wireless system and also walked out with an Ibanez S 370 DX. I saw this baby up onthe wall and knew there was something wrong when she was being sold for 300. After a through investigation and fiddle, I knew she was coming with me. The guitar looks and sounds awesome. After a nice clean up she looks even better. My only problem is i would like to clean the pickup mountsand the tremelo since it seems to be a bit tarnished. Do you guys know what I could use to clean it up? I have tried regular guitar polish and it doesnt work. Maybe some type of metal polish? Thanks for the help in advance!!

  19. I say go with something not to hard but not to easy. Maybe "Love Her Two Times" by The Doors or possibly something by The Doobie Bros. The main point is to try and have fun and try not to worry so much about messing up and feel the groove. Good Luck.

  21. Yeah both the band saw and drill press are made by Ryobi. I think for the price they would be pretty cheap. For some reason I cant get the site to link it through. Either way both tools are $100 each
