  2. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...3764249869&rd=1 haha i like this one
  3. Really? I would think you did woodworking as a hobby for at least 10 to get results like that for a first project! great job, i hope to see some more pictures
  4. cudbucket, it looks great, ive been following this job, it just looks great. you said that you were a newbie, but i can tell you know what you're doing, is this because you've researched long hours or you've worked with wood all of your life? it just looks great and keep it up, keep sending pics
  5. hahaha he said breast...no but seriously, great job. the carved top looks very good
  6. Thanks pappy for the info, i just might get some, but you were right soapbarstrat, i found the site and i apparently spelled it wrong, its www.hibdonhardwood.com and they are located in st. louis, so im a little scepticle. well thanks a lot guys for the help
  7. haha thanks guys for the advice. i think thats remarkable page_master that you have 50 year old wood in your room, those are gonna turn out great for whatever is gonna be done to it. So pretty much, if i was in a destructive mood, I should goto a yard sale and chop down an old dresser and other antiques made out of real wood!
  8. haha i see what you're saying drak...i didnt know you were in md, but yeah i can totally see what you're saying. You made me anxious but hesitant to go to exotic lumber because im broke and i would just want stuff i cant get. I love your guitars drak and im assuming you get your wood from ebay and other online sources because if you got your wood from local sources you gotta tell me where you get it
  9. haha i wish i knew what they had at exotic, maybe ill go there this week and ill tell you pretty much what they have. Trhough the colonial hardwoods does have ebony, its a pretty long trip
  10. I live in a neighborhood SURROUNDED by trees. My backyard is pretty big but it sucks cause its all trees and i cant to much on a downhill slopped forest of a backyard. Does anyone suggest cutting down some trees in my backyard (i know where my backyard cuts off) and drying it for about a year or 2. Im wondering if anyones tried it because I would be thrilledd to build a body thats completely mine.
  11. Oh haha WOW...i didnt know so many people in MD made their own guitars...yeah i was in woodworkers club when i was looking for wood (they are the ONLY people with later hours), but they didnt have really what i needed. I might do that whole club though. This colonial hardwood DOES joint and plan the wood for free, but its a distant. I gotta go back to woodworkers club to see if they have anything this time around. By any chance have you gone to "exotic hardwoods"? i always wanted to go but dont have the time.
  12. I would buy them if i was planning to build a bass, how do selects sound though?
  13. I dont own or have played a jay turser but im thinking of getting one of a sanatago (i think they're the same thing). I just wanna test out if they are as good as a value as stated. a good site is Musicland Central They're the same company as on ebay. Well, i would suggest to check harmony-central.com. I hoped that helped
  14. ahhh im jealous. it looks great. Very creative and original.......if i had a CNC router....the things i would do....my whole house would be redone full of stuff thats not needed. I cant wait to see this thing finished. it think its funny because you jsut started playing bass but you'll have the coolest bass on the block. keep posting pictures
  15. Well good luck, necks can become stressful...even though ive TRIED making one, i still dread trying to fix it. I hope it works out and cant wait to see pictures
  16. Good job, I'm loving how people are staining instead of painting over nice wood. And you'res goes with them. I love the finish. And Also, Happy birthday, its my sisters birthday too
  17. lol well assumming you have a good reason to undergo this process heres a link HERE
  18. i would put the tung oil on than put that decal than the clear coat. (i think thats what you said)...i dunno if thats the real way or proper way to do it but i would do it that way. good luck, hopefully you've read the tutorials on projectguitar
  19. The link works now looks great, i love that scalloped neck. great work for a first time
  20. hey do you live near springfield? because theres this place called colonial hardwood that is getting swamp ash because people are asking them. its colonial hardwood in springfield va
  21. Ooo tidewaters like 37 miles from me. Is tidewater a good place to get considering the selection. Johnsilver: i would guess its northern ash which is much cheaper and also maiden said it was pretty heavy, swamp ash is lighter and a lot more.
  22. Looking great, i like the before and after pic. I have one suggestion though, make your photobucket thing public, i cant access it.
  23. I hope it works out maiden, you seem to be a fan of mahogany and walnut (from other topic). I accidentally clicked your profile and saw that you're from MD too. I live in bethesda (near dc), but im guessing you live farr from the district area.
