  6. I bought this Grizzley G8030 pin router about 5 years ago when my guitar business was doing well. Since then my health has wrecked my body and now I have to get both of my shoulders replaced. This means that I cannot use a pin router again. This router is 220 volt aand you will need an air compressor to operate the up/down. The table will need to be bolted back on, (trunions broke) you can use tubular steel to do this or just buy new trunions. You can see all the specs on Grizzleys site. I do not have any pictures but the machine is in good shape. I have extra pins and bits with the machine also. This is a great machine for building guitars and I would not get rid of it but my shoulders force me to. Machine is located in Mercersburg, PA. Near Hagerstown, Md. You must pick up. No exceptions, I cannot and will not arrange for any shipping. The machine weighs about 600 lbs. and stands about 6 ft tall. Asking $400 OBO. I also have mahogany body blanks (about 30) that I would sell for $35 pc. Sorry, I cannot ship these, you would have to pick up. They are joined and thickness sanded to 1 3/4". If you are interested you can email or call me. cmbeers@comcast.net 717-328-3233 Ask for Chris

  10. I found this video about the making of Martin Guitars. It is worth checking out. http://blog.nam.org/archives/2005/09/the_s...martin_guit.php
  11. Thanks chunkielad, I would be very interested. I will pm you. No problem guitarguy, just goes to show that we are both human and both make mistakes. Thank you. Thanks, Chris
  12. You are correct. I should have metioned that I needed 2D not 3D. We are well aware that it is harder and more time consuming than it looks and I should have said so. Thanks to all for pointing it out. Chris
  13. I can have the files made up for $35 hr. by a known builder and friend of mine. I thought that someone may be interested. I am not looking for 3D stuff. I am just looking for 2D stuff. I was just hoping that there was someone out there that had some 2D files. I just thought I would ask and maybe save a little money while helping someone with there guitar project. GuitarGuy, I not quite sure how you are trying to come across. Yes, we can afford to pay for the files but we were hoping to save some money while helping others maybe get started in building guitars. Comments like that are why lots of people don't like to post here. If anyone is interested, I would be willing to pay for the files or neg. on trades. Thank you, Chris
  14. Hello, We are switching from a pin router shop to full CNC, so we are selling our pin router. It is a Grizzly 8030 3HP 220 single phase pin router. This router is in very good shape and is excellent for guitar work. There was a new drive belt ($60) put on it with less than 10 working hours on it. The table has been pinned in the horizontal position. If you want it to tilt, you would need new trunons. Air regulator has a small leak, but it does not affect anything. This is very well maintained machine. It comes with many pins ranging from 1/4" to 1/2". The table is air operated by foot control. There are six adjustable spindle depth settings. These adjustments are great, you can set a height for neck route, pickup depth, cantrol cavity depth, etc. and with a turn of the knob you can switch them. The asking price is $900. You are welcome to come and see it run at our shop in PA. I perfer that it be picked up, but I will put it on a pallet and take to ABF or Roadway for a small fee. Machine weighs about 660 lbs. I will take some pictures of it tonight. If you are interested email me and I will send you pics. Thanks, Chris chris@brtguitars.com
  15. Hello, BRT Guitars are just now getting back up and running. We are expecting delivery of our new cnc next week and we need more files. If you are good a CAD and would be willing to make up some files for us, we will trade 2 complete routed bodies for every file that you make up. (In mahogany or Basswood) I need ready to cut files,(CAM Ready) not internet stuff. I have looked all over the internet also, so please do not send me files that you got off the net. I am looking for strats, les pauls, etc.. If you are interested in doing some CAD work for trade, please contact me @ chris@brtguitars.com to discuss this. Please contact us before you send any files. Thank you, Chris
  16. I also bought one thinking it would be great for guitar work. It is terrible. It doesn't get hot enough and it is very hard to get the tip to make contact right. Save yourself some money and buy a regular soldering iron. Just my 2 cents worth. Chris
  17. Hello, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that has purchased my blanks. I also wanted to reply to the previous questions. Yes, I will sell them as 2 pieces so that you can use them as wings. Just let me know what thickness you want and I will thickness sand them and run them accross the joiner so that you can get a tight joint. I don't have any walnut in stock at the moment, but I will have some made up real soon. My mahogany blanks are usually $40. If anyone here on projectguitar wants them, I will sell them for $36. Shipping is $12 per blank. As always, you are welcome to pick them up at our shop in shippensburg, Pa and save yourself some shipping. The original 15 blanks were sold, so project guitar price is now $36.00--just make sure you mention project guitar when you contact me. Thanks, Chris
  18. Sorry for the delay fellows, I got the flu a few days ago and it has had me down. Anyhow, I checked the postage to canada online and it will be 24.45 for 4-10 day or 19.15 for 4-6 weeks. Thanks, Chris
  19. I will have to get you a shipping price to Canada. I'm guessing about $15-20. I will get you a total in a day or 2. xebryusguitars, all you need to do to enter the hat contest is, send me your email and let me know that you want to enter the contest. I will have these blanks available at all times on my site, but they will be about $10-15 dollars more. I have not advertised this special anywhere else yet and I will not unless I have some left after 2 days. I have 12 left right now. We will also be selling alder in the near future ( waiting for shipment to get here) and we are workig on getting quilted maple and clario walnut. Thanks, Chris BRT Guitars

  22. Here is a link of one installed. Riser Block Scroll down about halfway and you will see the photo of the installed riser block. Yes, you will need a longer blade. Hope this helps, Chris
  23. Here is a link to a picture of one. All you do is unbolt the back of the frame and bolt the riser in, thus raising the overall height of the machine. This bandsaw from grizzly will give 12" (height) cut with a riser block installed. Grizzly? Hope this helps. Chris
  24. I made a Jackson Kelly body and a Flying V out of solid birch just for s**t's and giggles. Both were very heavy and I don't recomend it for electric guitars. To me, the tone was dead. Maybe it could be used for a Bass with better results. Birch is hard and it dulls your bits rather quickly. I have cut many different woods and I personally believe that the birch was the hardest on my tools. Now with that said, i have also used spalted birch (1/2" thick) for tops and it looked very nice. I used spalted birch glued onto mahogany and it sounded great and looked good also. That is my experience with birch. Chris.
