    alright its just that i read people on forums say things like "wow, what a nice top....but its probably a veneer...yeck" and so on so i just wanted to know whats so ba about it i have a guitar with a cap and another with a veneer, i cant compare though cuz the one with the veneer is strat like with a floyd, and the capped maple one is more les-paul like (its a dean cadillac....and its broken ATM too, lol

    how about sharp Z inlays in a similar shape to the body? what'd really be cool is a bloodwood (or another red grained wood) for the fretboard and use black inlays i dont like the idea of the blooddrops unless they really have a evil splattery look to em. the ones im visualizing are like teardrops but i think im just imagining it wrong, lol keep up the good work

    what are the tonal differences between thick tops and veneer tops? i know ive read some peoeple say there isnt an audible difference, and others say yes and i seem to find a lot have a certain distaste for veneered so whats the deal between the two and what is more favorable?

    dark grain on light wood? what do you mean? weird, i was actually just looking at Myrtle spalt myrtle to be exact \ should i use it for the top, or is this wood good for the whole body? other woods on my maybe list: white burl ash, amboyna burl, and tamo elaborate, sorry. i dont want to use a maple though.....if im getting a custom made i just dont wanna get maple, i see enough maple around , know what i mean? i want something a lil more unique

    i know someones gonna tell me to use the search button or something, but can anyone direct me to a good wood supplier site? i need to go over a buncha examples to see what kinda top i'd be lookin for (and hopefully find) sorry if this thread takes up space, i know some forums get kinda **** about threads like this

    well trans white in the same sense that trans-blue works or any other transparent paint ideally i want it as white as it can get. with a darker or brown wood it would take away from the white. if you do transblue, for example, itll still be blue but a darker blue if i used (for example) walnut. though with white....who wants a dark white? kinda defeats the purpose so yeah, im trying to find a nice figured wood thats light in color. the hunt continues...

    Now im sitting here going over so many sites that have body blanks and top woods and i'm trying to figure out what wood would look the best for the guitar im having planned. now, the finish i have in mind would be Trans-White i want some nice figuring, but at the same time, i dont want to get something that wont turn out very white at all in the end.. is maple my only option? or are there other nicer "figured" tops out there that would comply with my whole trans-white fetish? the only one that i've found so far to peak my interest is some of this spalted scotch beech....*drool* thanks

    Anything I can glue to MDF, or an actual MDF template Hi Talkin to Doug here and trying to get my templates ready and i'm just wondering what an "MDF" is or how to make an "actual MDF template" ive drawn out all my stuff to scale in AutoCAD so far... any help/input would be greatly appreciated so i can get this stuff done and on its way

    Well I dont Think I want to do That, I really Like How This Flows With the Brutalizer design ← then make the HS a mirror of the body it'll look better than what you posted, which kinda looks like it needs some sort till its perfect

    he's 100% backwards action is height, tension is the strings ability (or not) to vibrate
