So yesterday i started a new build. Here is the original Sketch. which turned into this (This is post glue and template making haha) this is the polyacrylic template made Hard to see... but yeah thats the headstock design. Just barely changed up a headstock from a "Vik" guitars headstock. I already started the top. Glued it up and rough cut. And here is the mahogany in the clamps for a good hour or so. 2h Dont have much awesome tools like you guys do but I hope I can make it awesome :-P. I've seen people here do amazing work lately. Anyway, just posting as a keep track kind of my build thing.

WOW i completely forgot to update this haha yeah its finished ill post some pics. the figure didnt come out as much as i wanted. i forgot why (probably because i sanded back to much) but yeah ill post some pics Rest of the neck pics. Before final polish i put it together out of eagerness and tested it. it plays amazing. sounds ridiculously good too. incredible sustain and harmonics. and the final pic haha i cant believe i forgot about this. ive been working on drawing up other builds, i got a GREAT peice of wood that gave me three tops of great figure. ill post pics if you guys want. im currently trying to draw up another custom design that can be truely mine like this one. except more PRS sized and styled. cause well, PRS is my favorite haha. i also refinished my first build its completely polished now looks awesome anyway I also re clearcoated this build and it looks a lot better. the figure is a lot more noticable. ill update those pics soon cause its sitting in the bedroom right now :-P P.S. the tuners on this guitar are wrong tuners hence the strings on the wrong side of the tuners. Does anyone have a reverse headstock tuner set they can sell me? if i get a hold of them the strings will sit right and sound even better. even though it already does

wiring isnt that hard at all? maybe something is wired backwards or... not grounded? who knows. but all i know is it looks freaking amazing. hey after you take it to 4000 leveling what do you use to polish that grit into a high gloss finish? could you PLEASE do a tutorial? mine came out great but not that great. (i still have more coats to do) if not link me to a tutorial you have already maybe? Great work as always

yeah i searched for days and didnt find anything . i just wired in the new piezo in place of the other one. but i think the wiring on the preamp is wrong or something. if i took picks of the wiring would you guys beable to tell me what the wires are? there is one black one red and one white going to the input jack. and yeah dakhahn i looked on the fishman site the wiring for the preamp in the ovation is different than the preamp on fishmans

HELP PLEASE!!! haha does anyone have a diagram for an ovation limited edition? im trying to add a fishman martin thinline piezo pickup to it. i basically wired it into the old pickups place, but it sounds wrong and weak (and no its not wired backwards). i need a full diagram so i can wire everything up correctly ive searched for days. anyone? Thanks

contact cleaner you buy at radio shack. just take off the knob covers and spray the crap out of it. haha and while you are turning the knob spray into it while its crackling and keep working it in, the sound should go away. i dont know if i explained it well enough but let me know

i REALLY like the first option with that reverse prs headstock looking thing, i might use this for a build one day if its okay haha :-P i cant wait to see this build yeah after looking at it more the first headstock matches the curves and points of the body. i choose #1

yeah everything you mentioned i did haha heres the multi laminated neck stained the middle one (its three pieces) and here you can see the volute but thanks for the tips on the neck this one came out medium thickness. but now i know how to get it thinner for my neck project a Telecaster copy for a friends uncle. he wants a bluesy guitar any tips on wood or stuff like that? pickups?

so anyway here is the finished shots (sorta i still got to put more clearcoats and finish the neck/headstock. it still needs some finalizing). i didnt really post the build cause no one posted but ill post it later for myself :-P anyway here is it next to the private stock prs and here is paul reed smith loving it! haha :-P some more shots (tested how it looked in my friends case) the tuners dont match cause im waiting for the planet waves auto trim tuners to come in the mail. and i got the prs wiring kit so im going to be putting that in also. (so it will look like it has 3 knobs)
