  1. Is it a bad idea to fret a fretboard before it's attached to the neck?
  2. Since this is on a neck I wouldn't want a shine to it. If I sanded it down after it dried could I get it so that if feels like a satin finish?
  3. I agree with anderekel. It would be very hard to see on any dark wood, maybe not on maple if you dyed it. Maybe if you scalloped your fretboard you wouldn't have the problem with roughness on the bends. On the other hand, then it would be a very carve.
  4. I was thinking this neck blank, but I am worried that the dimensions won't accompany the heel. http://www.lmii.com/CartTwo/thirdproducts....ood+Neck+Blanks
  5. I am planning to build a PRS style set neck. Can anyone tell me how thick a neck blank would need to be? Also, is can anyone describe the process for making a set neck?
  6. How does this piece look to you guys? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...;category=41406
  7. Yeah, I asked him about it and he says that the best he can do are the dove inlays.
  8. Does anyone know where I can get PRS bird inlays?
  9. Wow, thanks for the info. That is a nice guitar you built. Where did you get the template for the body?
  10. Do you think that 3/4" will be enough for a PRS top? I contacted PRS and they said that they strat out with a 5/4 piece. Does anyone have a PRS with a carved top that could tell me how thick it is? Thanks everyone for your input!
  11. The tutorial on the main page is for your typical strat-type veneer. I don't think could get veneer to bend well enough to fit around a PRS body. I'm going to get something a little thicker, like 1 1/4" stuff and shape it, rather thank mold it. Lets say that I don't have a flap wheel. Should I just go ahead and use a orbital sander after I rout the depth, or would that not work to well?
  12. Does anyone have any advice as to how to contour a top like a PRS?
