You can make a multi peice wood top out of them. Cut out the bad parts and replace it with accent strips of wood that are being used else where in the guitar.

If you jointed the outer edge before you book matched the middle top then you can just use the outer sides as the middle. Thats if you book matched the top yourself.

I hope your crowning file is made for doing SS frets. If it isn't you'll need to order a new one if you use it.

It is going to be carved to follow the body shape so there is still quite a bit extra material on the cover. That makes perfect sense then.

Excellent work on the build. I love the drop top you used on this tele, and the carve is sweet too.

The build looks great so far. Just noticed the control cavity cover looks really think. Just wondering why if it is. Look forward to the finished project.

That sucks about the measurements. I personally order in bulk so that I have enough for 10 guitars at a time. I pretty much only use 2 sizes. but if I need a different one I just order bulk and take a hit on the fret job. But I'll have it in the future. I order from Stewmac.com Good luck on the build.

If you know the size of fret wire you ordered, then you know the depth of the Tang. Just Set your fretsaw's depth stopper to a hair past that and you should be good.

It was resawn from a larger billet. It's always cheaper to approach it this way vs buying a single top set. It probably cost $30 US when subtracted from the $200 I paid for the billet. Peace, Mark Judging from the mockup it looks like a non tremolo bridge. Are you going with that or a tremolo bridge? I think it looks great just hope it's getting a trem.
