  1. Kill button/ switch? I have a momentary kill switch in a guitar and it's a lot of fun.
  2. I have a Carvin neck through 7 and I love the feel of the neck, I have Ibanez and Carvins neck is beefier and still very comfortable.
  3. 1. I've been looking for those jacks 2. Thats cheap for any jack much less a locking one 3. COOL!!!!
  4. Yeah, that's what I was going to say if his intention was to leave it natural, it's probably ply.
  5. So, you want to sand it down to the bare wood and leave it that way?
  6. I have two Ibanez with Gotohs and they hold tune very well but, I bought a Carvin recently with Sperzels, and they are fantastic, I love them.
  7. Bigger planers for bigger jobs, plus theres always hand planes.
  8. yeah, it's more like a harness than a strap , they have them on musiciansffriend I think.
  9. Thes shape is great the build is great and I LOVE that neck joint.
  10. I agree with the scarf joint idea, but I am curious myself, wouldn't it still be end grain to end grain? Is it just the extra gluing surface that makes it more secure?
  11. AA? Thank you, to some one who appreciates the diversity of tastes. I do like your angel bass though, very creative design.
  12. Now this one, I do like. Thats really some amazing rout work there.
  13. Thats what dye is for, make the body out of alder or something with tight grain then dye it.
  14. I read the dragon I dea, I just slapped a headstock on there, my main thing was making the body look a little...shall I say, meaner. Edit: I have a 7 string RG and that has balance problems. so even if you added an inch or two to the horn that would help with the balance.
  15. I saw your design and I thought it needed a couple things, First off I don't think that the top horn protrudes enough seconly, I dont think it looks mean enough, especially for a guitar named "Dragonrider" and also this goes along with number one, I think you will have balance issues as a lot of 7 strings do. Use parts of my version or none of it, just a friendly suggestion, I'm really looking forward to seeing this one come together, good luck.
  16. wouldn't it stop sounding like a sitar when he fretted a note?
  17. 911tabs.com is great, it searches all tab sites so you get the most results.
  18. if it's just a dent in the wood i think I heard somewhere that you could use steam to pop it back up
  19. the cave in just needs to be filled with epoxy filler, then sanded flush after your refinish you'll be like "What cave in?"
  20. 1. Blocks on the nut are easily found, or you could just replace the nut for about 20 dollars, you'd get all new parts. 2. They usually sell the back plates of brand new, parted-out ibanez RGs on eBay 3. 10 dollars for a barrel style flush mount jack like the one on your RG, I have an RG 7420 with the exact same problem the cord just pops out at the drop of a hat. Holy crap, I just saw that you have a kill switch on your rg7 too, i do too and in the exact same spot, weird. I'm pretty sure you can get those decals on ebay as well.
