  1. That's a goddamned P-40 Kittyhawk of Flyin' Tigers, from WWII, ain't it?
  2. Anyone out there could find some sound samples of these full composite acoustics? I can't get 'em out of my mind lol. *EDIT* I've found some clips on the CA site, very interesting, harsh and assertive sound with a lots of treble. Maybe because composite doesn't damp anything that wood does. Somehow I feel it similar to maple sided and backed acoustics.
  3. Is lacewood stiff enough for neck? 'Cause if mahogany is okay...
  4. Yes, what's the frequency curve of that kind of signal, what about its voltage and what's the best way to (pre)amplify it?
  5. Put some tiny single coils in it and you'll sound like no one else.
  6. That's used mainly for acoustic tops beside spruce.
  7. Go for it man! This is the future I believe (there'll always be vintage people out there though.)
  8. And as it looks the thing isn't recessed, so that's angled bolt-on neck... Hehe, never seen a bridge pickup hangin' that high on a strat before.
  9. Didn't find anything about the tone yet, but here they say its dust can be irritant. http://www.woodbook.co.uk/M%20-%20N.htm Here's another description: http://www.windsorplywood.com/tropical_woo...ods/makore.html It is African cherry, Janka hardness quite similar to black cherry. Don't know... stiff enough to emphasize the upper midrange, isn't it? I bet its sound is close to maple's sound, therefore it would be nice to use as a top. Just my 2 cents.
  10. Damn Drak, now you turned me listening him too.
  11. Béla Fleck & The Flecktones and Doc Watson right now.
  12. Try from here: http://www.fenderforum.com/guestbook.html?...?user_name=Drak Very nice finish on that, Drak! My fav's still the Drakulator though...
  13. What about this tone-o-matic Strat?
  14. Already reached 200, where's the download section? Are you sure anyways? It looks like I can't reach it without donation.
  15. Yea, this way you could make something like the first Strats had (only bridge, middle or neck positions), without the in-between switch positions of the 5-way toggle.
  16. I'm gonna be nasty now: play clean and you'll be able to play all those beefy chords, major 7's, 13's, 6/9's... mmmhh, jazzy colors I mean. No, not needed; everything you play is you, whatever you play. I got used to these jazz kinda barre thingies, that may fit together with EVERY style of music from moody pop to blues (remember those dominant 9's that Stevie Ray used?). I just wanted to say, it's boring to listen those power chords all the time, though they do have their own function and they could be exciting when they're not overused. (Some little thingies I played.)
  17. Dunno but there's not too much walnut bodied guitars out there. I know even Fender made some walnut Strats in the early '80's, but this wood doesn't seem to be as popular as other species. Or is it just the weight? (Though you mentioned that your guitar was chambered, lol.)
