  1. wow brings back memories... either played or tried to play most all of them...
  2. You did a hell of a job. clean and crisp looking
  3. Might be the lighting but it looks like the frets havent been recrowned yet... Last pic looks like you can still see verticle sand marks in them. Great job!
  4. Great job with the black on the NM... great highlighting of the figure... The sealer really made the cove stand out on the LP... I'm not so sure now

A Charvel i redid for my son
  10. I'm just thinking you should have made 2 or 3 while you had your setups lol... I was concerned about the unpolished surface in the flat but i see where its going now... Looks great!
  11. I have done that before... I was completely finished and playing the guitar when i noticed... Had to disassemble and call a redo.
  12. Looks great and after looking around a bit, looks like it can be had fairly cheap too...
  13. Hmmm What are you using for a hardner?
  14. Chrome had a few pits in it i couldnt buff out. But I would have loved to have kept it... looked pretty nice hanging on my wall of guitars...
  15. Figure looks great! I Have never been much on the sharp corners like on the NM... I could always see me about 6 beers deep hitting something and a huge chip cracking lol... Carve is looking very nice! I could never get my kids interested till they were about 7 or 8... but then they learn so fast, by the time they are 20 they can far surpass the master
  16. I put 10's on it...It had a really small radius on the fretboart too... made it really ackward feeling...
  17. After it was all said and done.. it didn't look to bad... But man that 24 inch scale sucked! I didn't like it at all!
  18. He wanted the original olympic white, I found some after some research... Still laughing about the route with a rusty spoon comment... thats hilarious!
  19. Yeah i think originally it had singles... this was butchered severely!... The guy said he has had it for about 30 years, got it when he was a kid I think he said.
  20. Had to get out the dent puller for the body.... Trick i learned when i worked in a furniture factory about 8 years ago... Not bad after the first sweat...
  21. Spent 2 hours with a razor blade scraping the laquer and crud off the neck... cleaned and leveled the frets. Got the white paint off... Scuff sanded over the decals ever so lightly... The one gouge was already there... All in all the neck cleaned up really nice!
  22. Last year a guy asked if i would take a look at a 1965 fender mustang... He said it had been refinished a few times but the finish was coming off. At first i was like man i don't know... Hate to mess up an old classic. After I saw it i was like DAMN! No way i could screw this up any worse. ( he only had 2 conditions. Don't remove the already damaged Fender decal, and don't remove the factory neck date.... It had set so long the strings rust stained the nut. And the frets have turned green... not to mention the huge divots in the frets... Someone had laquered the rosewood fingerboard Looks like someone cross sanded They reassembled while it was wet The decals he wanted to save were bubbled Beat the crap out of it... Looks like they used acrylic wall paint... And they put that over some type of clear crap I can't identify. it you touched the white it rubbed right off lol...
  23. That looks damn near like one i made from left over scrap maple... My son was wanting to try and build one so i gave him some scrap maple that was too short for a body, but it was like 19 inches wide but only 14 long.... He glued (2) 1 inch slads together placing the clamps directly on the wood, then cuts it out with a jigsaw... It looked absolutely horrible lol. After that he was pretty much done with it... It layed around for a couple years and one day I thought I would take a stab at it.. The grain is running sideways and i figured it would sound like crap but amazingly enough it sounds awesome... Wood burned a rose on it and the vine goes all the way around the back... Had an old imported china neck blank laying around with vine inlay and matched it up... (use to order those for $35 before i started making my own) Turns out everyone that sees it is crazy about it... imperfections just add to the character Looks like yours is going to be killer!
