  1. Yeah, I've seen the Geiger RGT. Damn nice. Then again, I'm not in the US
  2. Surely if you're recording with it, the gap won't be an issue cos you could just record different tones to different tracks. I'm tempted to sell my ME-50 and get a V-Amp2 and a FCB1010.
  3. I was just wondering how these two pedals compared with each other. Are they on par or is the Pod better? Also, if using the V-Amp II with the FCB1010, is there a gap when changing patches? I'm really really annoyed with the ME-50 and it's gap.
  4. OK cool. I think he's gonna be doing it himself (he should be able to, he has a masters in Engineering)
  5. The faxing of the credit card seems to be standard practice with European retailers. I know I had trouble with Thomann.de looking for a fax of my credit card, even though I had already placed two seperate orders worth €200 each using the same card 6 months and a year previously
  6. Once again, thanks for all your help lads. But I'd be a fool to turn down an Ibanez SZ520 for €457 shipped!
  7. Well, the tube he's getting (if he actually listens to me) is €12 so it's not too bad. Can you rebias one tube? My tube amp knowledge is somewhat limited unfortunately.
  8. Yeah, the sound has been getting worse. There's only 1 12ax7 in it so matched sets aren't required.
  9. A guy that I do some guitar work for has been complaining that he hasn't been able to get decent tone out of his Marshall Valvestate 8080 any more. He said he bought it second hand about 4 years ago and has never replaced the preamp tube. Would I be right in thinking that it's toasted? If I'm right, is it just a staight pull out the old one, push in the new one kinda job?
  10. Hope you made yourself a guitar for your birthday Happy birthday man.
  11. Thanks for all the replies guys Strange Fruit, I was actually looking at that Ibanez but it went out of stock before I could order. Has anyone had any dealings with guitarbargains.com? Seem a bit too cheap...
  12. Right, I'm in the market for a new guitar. I have €500 or $500 (with taxes and shipping, it works out equal). I'd prefer to buy from Europe and buy new but importing from America or Japan is acceptable if the shipping costs are included. I'd like a fixed neck (set or neck through) and a fixed bridge. Dual humbuckers are required but a single in the middle is acceptable. I'd also prefer for the body to be "real" wood (no agathis or basswood). Right, have at you! http://www.ishibashi.co.jp/webshop/guitar/...if/rg2720fm.jpg I can dream...
  13. Just wondering what hearing protection (if any) people use when they're gigging/practicing/making lots of musical noise. I don't use any at the moment and my ears have been getting sorer and my hearing is getting worse so I'm kinda looking at getting something, even if it's only the foam plugs.
  14. The smilies that were on the old version of the software forum just haven't been copied back as the correct names. I've been having some strange problems too. Can't see Wes's avatar...
  15. In fairness, all I said was that I didn't like it. Some times people don't like when you come along and start going "well put that thing over there, change the background to pink, have some more flowers over there".
  16. GuitarMaestro, I understand where you're coming from but also check the wording on my posts. I never said that it sucked. I said I didn't like it. I was merely expressing my own opinion. He asked for opinions and I gave mine. I will admit I could have said move this here and there but I find it hard to redesign a site. I prefer creating from scratch.
  17. I agree. Dark text on a light background has been found to be the easiest to read. As for StudentGuitarBuilder's site he posted, I just don't like it. Really not a good site to showcase your HTML skills tbh. However, I reckon the PG page could do with an overhaul. I'm sure between a few of us here, we could make a great one. Leave out the Flash stuff though
  18. I don't like it. And using a 3.2ghz pc for hosting is a waste imo.
  19. Anyone who uses Windows Media Player or MSN Messenger should download this patch. There's a hole in the code that renders .png files that could allow rogue code to be executed. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/MS05-009.mspx
  20. Funnily, I've never had any problems with pinch harmonics. I didn't understand for a couple of years and I was messing around one day and got this really weird sound which was a pinch harmonic. Now I can get them in almost any position

    Boss Gt-8

    What is a ducked/dynamic delay?
  22. Cool. Must get round to installing Windows XP 64. BTW, the only mainstream 64 bit chips at the moment are the AMD 64's so if you don't have one, this won't run.
  23. Well, I know condoms protect but can they protect guitar necks
