  1. Thanks for the kind words! I'm done with the laquer now hope to give you a update in a couple of weeks when its fully cured and ready to go
  2. Love the detail work on this one, riktigt bra jobbat!
  3. Thank you, yeah i think its a little bigger then the framus but thinner. Hard to tell by just looking at pictures of a framus. here is a photo of the headstock so far, got some problems masking this so got some more white to put around the inlay but i think it will look sweet when done. and a picture of one of the sound holes
  4. yes it is,the white finish really made the walnut binding and purflings to pop, made a great contrast on the hole thing, sorry about the bad pictures i need to get hold on a better camera.
  5. Allright so i have started with the laquer on this one, spraying this one with nitro, needs some more layers before it's finished but this is how it looks now.
  6. Yes, got alot sanding left before finished. Hoping to get done with the sanding this weekend so i can start with the headstock inlay. I will add color to this the idea is to make a transtint white finish on it, we will se how that works out.
  7. Really nice timber you got there, this build looks stunning. Also like the smileyface on the back
  8. Looking forward to see this build, those templates are freakin' awsome.
  9. Didn't get so much time to work on it this weekend that i hoped for but i did get some more pictures, sorry about the bad quality and the dusty guitar
  10. Not at the moment, but i will after the weekend when i have finished sanding the body
  11. It's been a while since i posted here, got som time off and have worked alot on this project, Frets are in. All the bindings and purflings are done phew! that was alot more work then i thought, Stained the body with some black dye and sanded back still got some more sanding to do (alot). Also got the neck glued on last night. Some pictures at the project so far.
  12. Well, got some inspiration from it at least. But also adding alot of own modifications and ideas to it. Im pretty sure it will end up not looking like Devins Framus. The pictures don't do the headstock any justice at all, It's about the same size as on a Les Paul, but a different design.
  13. Yes, I agree its a really nice detail and i think we will see alot more abalone on this build.
  14. The fretboard is now glued on to the neck, tapered and radiused to 12" added some claro walnut, damn that walnut is messy when sanding. Also added some abalone to the fretboard and it turned out great. The fretboard got two coats of danish oil so far.
  15. Okay, i have started working on the soundholes, here is what it looks like right now, still got some more work left on it.
  16. Thanks, thats right no cavity cover on this one, I hope i can fit the pots thru the soundhole or im in big trouble. The top is 21mm before carve, and about 6mm after carve (inside and outside) and the back piece is 14mm before carve and 6mm after. The carve is already made on the top but i left some flat surface so i can do the routing for neck and pickup cavities.
  17. Here is the progress on the backcarve so far, but still got alot of sanding left.
  18. Thank you Scott, i really love the fretboard, I did put some lemon oil on it and it turned out to be really stunning,
  19. Allright time for a little update on this, So far i got the neck rough cut, trussrod channel done and fretboard slotted. The bodypieces have been cut out, middle piece and back have been glued together, I have also started on the back carve. Sorry for the bad quality of pictures.
  20. I hope it will be stunning, Going to be a fun build. The idea is to make a carve on the back as clean as possible without any lid. Im hoping that i can fit the electronics thru the humbucker hole or soundhole. But how should i shield this one up? shieldning paint on the hole inside?
  21. Thank you, I think the color turned out very well. Got this thingy strung up and intonated today, and it plays very nice. Those humbucker were a good choice for this guitar, the sound in them is really heavy, Sounds like the devil itself. Still got some more polishing to do on the back of the guitar and a grounding issue to solve on one of the pots, but i think it's an easy fix!
  22. Well i think it's time to announce my next build. This guitar will be a Multiscale (25,5 - 26,5) hollowbody. With flamed maple on top, middle piece will be red alder, and the bottom is flamed maple. Im planning on doing a carve on both top and bottom. Neck will be flamed maple with black and white ebony fretboard. bindnings will be claro walnut, black abs and with abalone purfling. the hardware will be gold. The finish of this guitar will be transparent white. I will take a lot of influenses from this guitar. http://iheartguitarblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/0616EXXX54BPFMT3OX_01.jpg Here is a picture of the fretboard blank and neck blank.
  23. Allright here is a picture of what we got so far, just some more polishing and crowning left.
  24. Sorry for late reply, Well the joint was made with a 0,8 degree angle. Because of the recessed floyd there isn't need for much angle, I have never liked the big neck angles that you need with the TOM. The guitar is allmost finished. Sprayed i stained it and sprayed it with nitro a couple of weeks ago. The wet sanding is finished and the guitar is polished so its really shiny! Just mounting of hardware and some fretjob left. I can't wait until i can play this thingy! This is a really addicitive hobby so i have of course started a new project. More info and pics coming soon!
