  1. I couldn't agree more. I think it needs a little something to get rid of that blank canvas look. Good luck. -AJC
  2. Ive tried it and got very poor results. Random patches of the wood soaked up more stain than others and it looked like, as Chris said, very tacky. The wood was evenly sanded and had not had a previous finish on it. If it's what you really want, then go for it. Just remember that you were well warned. -AJC
  3. Those will be some beautiful basses. Are you guys going to finish the fretboards, or leave them unfinished? Cant wait to see more! -AJC
  4. I actually like how it came out the second time a lot more. It looks more traditional, and professional.
  5. Anybody know where I can find those pre made wooden blocks to fill a large tremelo route? Thanks, -AJC

  7. Yeah it is a les paul style, just wanted to check so I wasn't screwed once I went to wire it up. Thanks a lot Robert. -AJC
  8. Good choice on dropping the monkey grip. The omega hole looks great. and I like the switches, but I think you could find a better spot for em.

  15. Those mansons with the midi controllers built in are sick. The only guitars ive seen with effects built in are those old Electra MPC's with the different modules you plug in the back. Im not sure how you would do something like that though.
  16. Thanks guys, I want to do it above the end of the fretboard where it extends onto the body, so it should be pretty solid. Where does everybody recommend as far as places to buy shell and stone blanks?
  17. Hey everybody, I am thinking about doing a simple, medium sized hummingbird inlay on an acoustic top. How possible is this, with the top being so thin? I don't have a whole lot of experience with inlays, but i've experimented on scrap wood and had good results. I plan on getting plenty more practice before starting this project. -Adam
  18. What?? cutting out a section of the fretboard to get rid of an inlay? Hope you find a more sensible way to go about this.
  19. Where would I be able to buy Deft?
  20. Any type of fret board cleaner will break that up. I use a type of lemon oil, and all that stuff wipes right off.
  21. Alright, what brands would be suggested for a laquer paint and clear coat in spray cans?
  22. I just painted a les paul style body black with World of Color epoxy enamel, and i want to give it a super glossy thick clear finish. What kind of clear, and what method should i use to achieve this? Also i dont have access to a spray gun so it has to be rattle cans. Thanks to anybody that can help me out,
