melbau is from south asian,
and it is dense.. and have oil..
my wood buy company cutting merlbau.. and it air day..
korea is 4 seasons.. -10 ~ 30,
and i suprized.. merlbau's air dry is amazing..
it not cover for dry.. it rain.. or snow.. or sunshine..
you will find rain trace...
and it's wood working is good..
i make neck with vera(lignum viete), all use hand tool.. knife, scrapper, sand paper..
vera is really extreamist dense wood..
janka hardness is 4,500 ( maple 1,450, mahogany 800, merlbau 1,900, bubingga 2,500)
i like merlbau, if you meet my upload pic conditions wood. buy it..
remmber it .. merlbau is not good texture.. maple is more good texture and eazy to finish.. but merlbau is give you.. good sound..
vera neck is inconsistent wood..
very dense.. but wenmake guitar.. it's sound is not too hight tone..
very powerfull sound..
but i dont finish it.. not use oilfinish..
i make strat with vera.. & walnut body..
but i dont like this sound..

i will make it another body.. i dont satisfy vera + walnut guitar...
