  1. preferences (I have a few odd ones, atleast, I think so..): recessed locking trem bridge- not picky about this maple neck and fretboard locking tuners HH configuration with coil tapping in a 5-way switch (no mini-switching/push pull knobs...yuck!) single volume knob- no tone 7 strings!!! 24 frets side input jack chrome knobs 11-70 strings- nickel (usually GHS) Curly input cords (not sure why, maybe 'cause it's funky!)
  2. Not right now, but I'll see if I can take some. I don't have a digital camera, so it's a little hard to...
  3. What can I use to clean my pickup polepieces, their looking kind of scuzzy...
  4. Hey everyone, I just got the guitar last night and I have to say thay it is awesome... I don't regret getting it at all. It's a little beat up on the back, but everything works fine and most importantly, it sounds great. Thanks for your comments, though.
  5. I get a pretty funky sound out of a pearly-gates humbucker in a fat strat. It seems like the pearly gates places a lot of emphasis on the attack of the note, which is really important for DA PHUNK!!
  6. Hey everyone, here's the deal- I just dropped $450 on a 7 string and I have to thin the herd. Rather than send my old Ovation out to pasture, I would like to see someone use it- considering I haven't used it in a while. I'm willing to let it go for $325 with a case. It has the Ruby Red burst finish and the active pre-amp system like all Ovations. Musician's friend sells them for $400 new without a case and mine is in insanely good condition. Thanks
  7. I've heard the S series 7 strings are kind of rare, I'm not sure if it's true or not...
  8. Does anyone know anything about the new Ibanez zero resistance tremelo? How does it differ from other tremelos?
  9. Uh, oh guys.... I gave in big time.... I spent a lot more than I meant to on this one... check it out- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...DME:B:EOAB:US:6 I promised myself I would sell my ovation acoustic because I spent so much, though... Anyone interested? It's like cco57 only it has the older ovation pre-amp. It is in really good shape, just needs a polish. $300 with a case- musician's friend sells them for $400 new. antique_dream@yahoo.com e-mail me if you are interested, and thanks for all the advice.
  10. What about this one? http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...0&category=2384
  11. Hey everyone, check out this washburn 7 string tell me what you think... Is it worth it? http://www.music123.com/Item/?itemno=20396 -Funkmaster Nate
  12. Get the ring... If she knows that you saved your money this one time and bought her a ring instead of a guitar... she let you buy about ten more in the future.... believe me...I KNOW.... -Funkmaster Nate
  13. Hey everyone, ever since I tried a seven string, I've been dying to get one. Does anyone have a seven string (preferably with a locking tremelo) that they are willing to part with? If need be, I'll take a neck and body w/o pickups or something weird like that..also, cosmetic flaws don't bother me. I'm trying to spend under $300... don't know if I can swing it, though.. e-mail me. Thanks for any offers you might have, FUnkmaster Nate antique_dream@yahoo.com
  14. I used a drill bit and twisted it by hand, it took a while, but worked out really well. I'm lovin' the new tuners. Thanks, everyone. -Funkmaster Nate
  15. I put a pick between the pickguard and the pickup, so I can always have one handy, it fits in there pretty nice. That's about as weird as it gets- unless I'm not thinking of the stuff I do as being weird because I'm so weird to begin with. -Funkmaster Nate
  16. Hey everyone, I have two humbuckers on a fat strat and want to get the p-model megaswitch from StewMac. One of my hb's is a carvin m22, which only has 3 conductor wires. Can I still do this wiring mod? -Funkmaster Nate
  17. Hey everyone! I just got a set of locking vintage style tuning machines from stew-mac. I wanted to put them in my strat copy, but the pegholes weren't wide enough for the bushings. I want to widen the holes, but I don't want to pay for a reamer (unless I can get it for cheaper from a hardware store or something like that). I was wondering if anyone knew any "cheater" ways to widen the holes. I don't really want to pay $30 for something I might use once or twice. Thanks for any help, Funkmaster Nate
  18. Hey, everyone, this is just a general question, I'm looking to put a single-coil sized humbucker in a strat copy of mine- I don't have any experience with these, so please shed some light my way- -Funkmaster Nate
  19. I use a pearly gates in the bridge and a carvin m22 in the neck of my squier fat strat- the guitar was dying and these pickups really saved it. I put a series/split/parallel switch in the pearly gates, but I don't use it that much, I might take it out. Also, I put a coil selector switch (3 way) on the m22 because it only had 3 conductors and there was a diagram that came with the pickups that showed how to do it.-Anyway, both of these pickups were awesome before and after I put the switches in, and I was only using a volume knob- no tone controls. I get a lot of cool sounds out of this guitar now. The m22 is really smooth (great for jazz), and the pearly gates is really punchy- it seems like the emphasis of that pickup is on the attack of the note (which is a really cool thing to have for the bridge). Also, I bought a guitar from www.mandalaymusic.com (an axl strat copy) and it came with emg single coils. I think they are similar to the emg select series- anyway, those pickups are really nice, too. the axl strat only costs about $180 with shipping, and it sounds just as good as any fender- you can even get it with a maple neck. Hope I helped, -Funkmaster Nate
