  1. I recently purchased the new Traynor YBA200 (all tube). Great warranty and the sound (with matching cab) is incredible. The matching cab is 2x10" and a 15". It sounds much better than my mid 60's Ampeg Portaflex B15 (which is mostly relegated to guitar duty now).
  2. Congrats! She is tolerant now, but give her a year or so after your married and try sawing wood in the home.
  3. I will (next year, or so) be getting an 18" or 19" bandsaw (gotta pay off my new amp first). I need to start cutting up some of this maple I have sitting around. BigD I was looking at your web site and was reading your comments on all the people in the NW and their poorly dried wood. It just reminded me not to hurry with the bandsaw. I'll just let the wood dry somemore.
  4. Look here. Did a Google search
  5. Mine is waiting for more coats of lacquer, so it won't be ready until the weather warms up.
  6. Null vote! Until you've played on a Speedster amp you ain't played on nothing! Here for what I consider the best amp I've ever heard! And don't let the low wattage fool you.
  7. Wear breathing protection as long as their is dust in the shop! BTW< Cocobolo is fun to sand on. It sands easy and makes a nice gold dust.
  8. " "Bonjour, le Company de General" " I theenk I take a closoure loook at le Generrals bendsaw mmm...
  9. I was thinking of doing just that for my next bass (to lower the weight more than anything). I was just going to hollow out the wings and use the neck through as the center block.
  10. LGM let me know if you like the General line of tools. I guess you must you buy em, but I'd like to know after a few weeks worth of useif you still like them. I'd like to see a direct comparison to Grizzly.
  11. Have you looked at Grizzly Industrial? Here
  12. I said generally! Not exclusively! I'm sure their are others that play a hollow bodies for rock. OH yeah me too! But look up jazz guitar and see what they look like. Surprise, they're hollow bodies. Read his post in the "Solid Body Guitar" chat to see where I was coming from. Here
  13. Can't give you an answer, but it is the wrong place to post that question.
  14. For lumber you will at times see it listed as 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, and so on. Same thing only different.
  15. You asked a similar question and it was answered, but you don't want to listen. How many more times are you going to ask the same question? Hollowbody's are generally considered for jazz, although you can get more than just jazz sounds out of one. Is a hollowbody what you really want to play? If you really like the guitar than get it and quit worrying about sounding like Jimi or David. Create your own sounds.
  16. My favorite guitar is the Gibson L-5. As in Wes Montgomery's favorite guitar. Or maybe a Benedetto (any of them).
  17. I believe you can do it either way (as far as center block goes). I remember reading along time ago that the center block helps in avoiding feedback.
  18. My Caribburst is on hold until spring due to our lovely rainy winters. It is hard waiting, especially without another project to start on.
  19. That is a super piece of wood there! Mighty fine, I must say.
  20. Why then the tuning would be a hair "sharper"!
  21. The things people can argue about! I say hang em all till the necks stretch and snap.
  22. A word of warning don't waste your money on a 50 bit set unless the set is of high quality. IMO buy a few super quality bits that will last a lot longer. You don't need 50 of them unless you're doing more than guitar work with them. BTW a 26 bit Freud set is in excess of $300.00. Most of which you may not ever use, but they are great bits.
