  1. Theres a bunch of sites with schematics to all sorts of amps. *My opinion* build one of those. And then modify it. http://www.drtube.com/guitamp.htm
  2. I wish they made piezo floyds. But ur best bet is gettin the piezo wilkinson + graphite nut +locking tuners or the rolling nut
  3. Floyd Rose. But....lost the trem arm...so..it doesn't get used. hehe.
  4. I'm having second thoughts on my 1st project guitar. Its my first... double locking Floyd Rose or String Thru + TuneOMatic or Other, please explain.
  5. oh quick question; i can use that joint on every guitar I build right? I just like the look better than a standard square. hmm.. I dunno. I guess it wouldn't work right in a V, huh? I guess only on guitars that come to curves like the RG...?
  6. is the jem neck just wider than the other necks or what? My measurements = your's...mainly because its your template
  7. http://home.rgv.rr.com/kingv1474/Draft.dwg Alright now it works for me. I say, if you dig it, go for it. Just gotta make it more accurate, and I these are theo nly ideas i have to help ya. I think you should take the RG shape and try to work with it, because it looks like an RG(the front half) and LesPaul(the butt). just w/ different length/style horns. the headstock, kinda reminds me of a Les paul. Maybe you could find template with that, and tweak it? I think there might be one at www.guitarbuild.com the fretboard, i dunno if you have it accurate or not. If you don't, you can have the fretboard i made, its pretty accurate for 25.5" scale w/ 24frets (w/ the 25th being the left over) Or I could make you one (or teach you) how to make one (the method I used).
  8. Go for it. Its not 100% accurate. I took it from Jackson . http://www.fender.com/new_repository/jacks..._Soloist_xl.jpg I scaled it up as best as I could, and traced it in ACAD. If you want the ACAD file for just the headstock, lemme know.
  9. I used the "Steal Alex's template that he disgned for someone, attempt to modify it to what i want, then Alex felt pity and extremely nice and edited his to what i wanted, and posted it for me" method the head stock, i used the spline and line. the neck the lines.
  10. http://home.rgv.rr.com/kingv1474/Custom.dxf I'd like to ask someone how, well..frankly, knows what their doing (cuz i sure don't). To go over some measurements. And make sure its all good. I have each part seperated also (one for body, one for neck, one for headstock), if needed. My plans: Ibanez RG body Basswood preferred, but it depends on what I win on ebay , Poplar/Alder are options 25.5" scale 24frets, Ibanez Wizard style neck Maple neck, maybe a stripe of some wood to add sturdyness, rosewood board(maybe ebony) Hum-Hum (Dimarzios, mid position coil split) Toggle/Vol/Tone Original Floyd Rose 3+3 inline Jackson style headstock (anyone know how in the world to do that to make sure the strings are in line? I *REALLY* like that look). Color: Depends on what I end up. I might just paint it a 'goth black'. Or more than likely, get flamed maple veneer and apply it to the body and headstock, and then dye it black. Opinions? Corrections? How long do you think it would take to build something like this?
  11. i'd really like to take a look at it, but for some reason its giving me a "error loading header" message. Can you save it as another type? or something?
  12. i'm sure there are a cheaper ways. in fact, I'm almost positive i saw a tutorial somewhere...I just can't find it. I know if you go to the tutorials on the main site, www.projectguitar.com theres a "Les Paul - the Hard Way", he makes binding out of PVC pipe. http://members.fortunecity.com/jtfish/lpc/...bod/routbod.htm
  13. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tools/Special_...uter_Guide.html that lil sucker + a dremel(?) = routes for binding oh. + binding material
  14. heh...true. And thats what i'm goin on right now . I need to order that Make Your Own Guitar by Hinscock i think his name is.
  15. here ya go http://home.rgv.rr.com/kingv1474/Draft.TCW Hmm. I can't seem to open it, I get a "failed to locate header" or something like that. Try saving as a different file type?
  16. yeah sure. email it to vb5mcse@yahoo.com tell me ur email and what your gonna call it (i use that email for spam and stuff, so ...if i don't see it..it'll get deleted w/ the rest) and i'll upload it as soon as i can and post the link here.
  17. Why does that Jem7 pocket seem different? it says 72mm across? Shouldn't it be 56? And it says 52mm from center screw hole to center screwhole, shouldn't it be more like 34-35?
  18. kwel w/ the inlays. I, personally, not a fan of the vine style. Hence just the dots (+ it'd be simple for me, being it'd be my 1st time w/ inlays. Of course...they'd be more centered
  19. you need access to a server. What ISP do you have? Most ISP's usually give their customers something like 5MBs for a small website. That'd be ur bestbet. If you don't know if you have some webspace, call them or look on their website. Otherwise you'll need to create a site at like GeoCities or the like.
