  1. we had this joke on g.com about this, put a single coil at the 12th fret to get a jangly sound, and one on the headstock to get those funky sounds you get when messing with them...
  2. The point of the guitar is more about the millons of switches, with a clear pickguard, not the amount of pups
  3. I love teiscos. i'm refinishing one right now. most are awesome, but most DO need a re-finish to become perfect...like that one...
  4. "Electrics Guitar"- I like guitars with a lot of knobs, and switches. So the basic idea on this one is 4 PUPS: 1 P-90, 1 Humbucker, 1 single coil, and 1 Under-bridge transducer. Each PU works independantly, their signals only coming together right before the output. Each go through the following stages: Phase switcher -> Tone pot -> Volume pot -> On-board OD (black ice [see stewmac]) -> on-off switch -> output. Thats 20 switches!!! Also, I want a CLEAR pickguard so you can see the mass amounts of wire!! It wouldn't be much of a stage instrument, obviously. But it would make a great convorsation piece, and a GREAT studio guitar. It would be awesome if someone could make up a wiring diagram for this...
  5. also I have tung oil for the neck. How good is this stuff?
  6. this is my first time fully re-finishing a guitar. I've already begun to sand, and i have bought the finish i am going to use. It's a a cherry stain, and aerosol clearcoat, like spray paint. How many of these aerosol clearcoats do i need to finish the guitar? I finished a piece of spare maple (not SUPER finely sanded, but ok) with the stain, anda single coat of the Clear Coat. I still feel the grain if that matters. Thanks!
  7. yes. The amp must have an extension speaker output, though. Many marshalls come with this.
  8. a regular tele bridge? or is a roller bridge non-stock? try: www.stewmac.com www.ebay.com www.warmoth.com www.carvin.com www.google.com
  9. That things ugly, unlike my beautiful Teisco. If i had some spare dough, i'd get it, take off those ugly triangle things. It could compliment my NICE teisco. It probably sounds cool, I'll give that ugly guitar that... Teiscos were WELL, WELL worth their low prices. Like getting a MIA Strat for 200 bucks...
  10. Thank God, someone smart!! LONG LIVE PROJECTGUITAR.ORG!!!! erm...
  11. oh, and today the 12th is my birtday!! 15!! whew heww!! now, which guitar?
  12. I'm not a fan of Agiles... BUT, that is perfect in shape and such. The Gibson faded double cut is 600, and would be perfect. same with the faded flying v. But i don't have 600 for tis project. I'm budgeting 450-500.
  13. Click here First ok, now look at the mirrocaster. I'm building my own version of that. Glyn and I have already spoken, and he has told me how to get to attaching the mirrors, and grouting it. Now all i have to do is choose a guitar to use. I would also like to do the sides, as from certain angles, you can see the guitar popping up on Glyn's, an i FInd that imperfect, and not perfectly beautiful. My ideas to use as a guitar are: Fender Standard Telecaster- More area to use, plus the upper circle, would be perfect for a mirror-ball like thing, plus the edges aren't contoured, perfect for mirror glueing Ibanez Jet King Series JTK1- Has a cool 60's body style, and is only 300 bucks. Plus the pickguard is metal, and would blend in with the mirrors. Epiphone Les Paul Special II- Super cheap ($150), non-arched top, would need new pickups, tuners, and bridge, plus shielding of the conrol cavity, would come out to about 300 as well, but the LP style would be cool, just i'd need a non-archtop. if you don't know what any of these look like, check musiciansfriend.com I don't have links, i'm looking at the paper catalog.. so?
  14. sorry, but i must ask, what does spalted mean, how is it acheived, and why does it look like granite? Is it expensive?
  15. Yup, they think we're mean, or we don't want to share our "luthier secrets". Or maybe they realize that compared to us they know nothing, or they think this place is about playing guitars, like guitar.com, but instead it's about building, customizing, and restoring guitars. Oh well...
  16. BUMP! you're probably right. Some 10 year old kid could come here and say he was gonna build the greatest guitar ever, with like 30 knobs, some radical design, a 26 fret neck for suuuper high solos, and etc, and we'd back him, I mean we'd also joke about it, but we'd give constructive critisizem(sp?). So if you're reading it man, post pics, and we'll tell ya how to fix it...
  17. "what now" niiiiice signature. well this is a great thread, some 40 year old balding man who doesn't own a guitar, who gets off by getting people he'll post a nice, new guitar, and us getting guitar-horny. (not the same as girl-horny, better). It's not gonna happen, guys, I'm sorry...
  18. butt fart... PICS FOR THE SAKE OF AMERICA!!! or for Britain, if your into that... when a kid talks about posting a pic, and doesn't do it, THE TERRORISTS HAVE WON!!!!!!!!! DO YOU HEAR ME??!?!?! THE TERRORISTS HAVE WON!!! THEY STOLE OUR PLANES, BUILDINGS, ARMY STUFF, AND NOW GUITAR PICTURES!!! WHAT NEXT?!?! HUH?! WHAT NEXT!!!!!!
