MKGBass
We're going to be making a hollowbody archtop guitar similar to the Gibson Classic models for a potential customer. The big question about doing it is this: What is the BEST and most efficient way of arching the top. If it were solid, I would definately use a cove router bit and carve the top, but considering the hollowbody part of it, I'm not so sure this wouldnt be a total waste of good wood. If perhaps there is a way to accurately bend a 1/4" top or perhaps something else, I would LOVE to know, as this is very important. Thanks, Mitch - MKG

syxxstring
Book Thats it. I read it a long time ago, before i owned the tools or the time to do any of this. Find images and pricing on his guitars you'll be amazed.
CaptMysterio
the author is "Robert Benedetto" (someone missed an 'e' i think). the book can be had off of amazon here. it's $10+ cheaper than at stewmac.

JohnJohn
The Benedetto book is worth every penny and more.In it he shows Ther routing jig he uses for carving tops and how to make the depth gauge that he uses. You can also use finger planes with a magnetic depth gauge.
