Drak Posted August 10, 2004 Report Share Posted August 10, 2004 Well, to be fair, they both had their backgrounds. Page was a studio (yawn) guy, so you can't be too sloppy there, so credit 1 Jimmy. But Hendrix played the southern chitlin' circuit (when segregation was fully enforced, separate black and white bathrooms, enter thru the back door for blacks, all that crap) And again, my vote goes to Jimi, I think his background was much more, well, 'interesting', and colorful, hehehe, and you couldn't be no slouch and get by on the chitlin' circuit either. You had to have your sh*t together for that also. So Jimi's background was more 'living by the second on the road', and Page was more 'studio-fab-gear'-oriented. Well, if it was your life, which would you prefer, hindsight being 20/20? Could you imagine Page playing behind Little Richard? C'mon now. Hendrix again wins by a landslide. Can you imagine Page inventing The Wind Cries Mary, or Spanish Castle Magic? Ohh, gag me...Page has never really impressed me ouside his role in Led Zep, which I consider a 'group' thang. Jimi was Jimi, thru Band of Gypsies, The Experience, etc... C'mon now people, Jimi Hendrix was the 8th Wonder of the World! Page backed up Puff Daddy on SNL Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!
