Dr. Jabsco
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...bayphotohosting I got it for 20 bucks, BM crotch walnut. I think it looks fine.. deminsions are 1/4 22''x15'' its goin on top of a peice of alder im gettin from litch. my only concern is that its going to look too woody, with this top, alder body, bocote neck, ebony FB. Im probley going to dye the alder a little darker to match the rest a bit more.
asm
i think it looks allright, personally i would go with a dark back and a neck made out of the same wood as the back. bet you could find some cheaper (not as nice grain) black walnut for the back and neck and it would match the color nicely but not be to visually distractive. Dr. Jabsco
Yeah, I already have the neck wood.. so thats not an option. And im really after the alder sound. would it look nice to seriously dye the back, or put a veneer over it? and leave the sides light
litchfield
Beautiful walnut
american_jesus
it'd look different to say the least. why not paint the back black, then put a clear coat over the walnut(which is a nice looking piece, might i add) and leave it natural. Drak
It looks like a matched pair of Rhino Arse-cheeks. Or maybe a Rhino forehead? Good on ya, mate, good on ya.
