Dying Rosewood Fingerboards

I have that stuff, and I have tried it on Rosewood boards.

Complete waste of time for what you're trying to do with it.

Rosewood is an oily, dense wood. There's no room for it to accept any appreciable amount of stain from outside sources, it's already heavy with it's own oils and doesn't accept much of the dye at all.

Actually with what little it does accept, it looks worse than if you just left it alone.

You could try putting vinegar in a jar with nail or steel wool. Let them sit for a few weeks and it make a great dye for rosewood. It is in the tutorial section I believe.

Iv'e used it with good luck. It soaks in quickly. Just buff off the reidue and you're set. :D
