question for swirlers

i don't think this would be giving away any trade secrets

when you swirl a guitar which method of applying paint do you use?

(a)dip body in through paint and back out through paint(doublelayer)

(b)dip body in through paint, blow away paint and make hole in surface,

pull out avoiding second layer

c)dip in without paint(avoiding 1st layer), apply paint, pull out through paint so it only gets 2nd layer

(a) wont work, it mixes the paint too much loosing the swirl

( thats the way to do it

What sort of paint do you guys use for the swirling?

Is it oil paint or poly urethane paint or something else?

i'm only planning for my first swirl project

gonna get underway after i do up my jem(mirror/black)
