helliumbrz
Hi everyone, It's the first time i post a project here. I'm building a Malcon Young Gretsch copy for a guy who plays in an AC/DC cover band. There are some diferences of my version and the original one, the original have a set neck and my will be with a bolt-on neck and i'm going to use only Brazilian wood in this one. Here is the pic of the original guitar: This is the cad drawing I've made from the pictures:
helliumbrz
Here are some pictures of the woods I'm going to use. Here is the neck blank, I'm going to use a local wood called PAU-MARFIM (Balfourodendron riedelianum) or IVORY-WOOD in English, it's very similar to Maple, but a little harder: Here is the fretboard, it's a piece of Jacarandá-da-Bahia (Dalbergia Nigra) or Brazillian Rosewood, it's a very hard-to-find wood, even here: Following as the Body Blank, it is called Marupá (Simarouba versicolor): For the top I'm going to use a vener of Flamed Goiabão (Pouteria pachycarpa). But I don't have the picture now. This week I'll try to post pictures of my work. I hope you enjoy it.

RRVCustom
dont forget the hole at the neck where there used to be a humbucker. cover band fans are brutal when it comes to details. i saw a guy freak out b/c the frontman of a kiss cover band had the wrong makeup job.
