lovekraft
Dallas Rangemaster http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...ssPageName=WDVW Current bid is £800, or about $1527US, for a one transistor treble booster - kinda puts that crossroads dirt in perspective, doesn't it? JohnnyG
yeah its getting kind of silly isnt it. ....hey, do you think that if you used the mojo dirt to relic the case a newlly made case you could pass it off as an origional rangemaster?!? surelly the mojo in the dirt would make it sound amazing so noone would know it was new circuitry
Drak
What people drop the big dollar for is MYSTERY and/or ignorance of a thing. When you have no real idea how something works, it takes on an omnipotent power over you, especially if it's been hyped up real good. People who pay the major ducks for those vintage guitars most likely couldn't even plug a router in, much less use one effectively. And someone who could build a nice guitar would still pay premium dollar for an old vintage amp if they didn't know how to build/understand an amp. Once you understand a thing, there is no more mystery, and no more urge to spend way too much money on it.

silvertonessuckbutigotone
do you think you oculd make one of those for really cheap and then sell it for 1500 USD or is it a name brand thing?
Devon Headen
How does it jump £500 in one bid? ← He started the bid at 300, and had the reserve set at 800. The guy that placed the bid went over the reserve, so that's what the bid jumped to.
mledbetter
Good gosh.. that looks like one of my brother's old radio shack projects.. For a trebel boost????!!! I understand vintage mystique but that's rediculous. I know lots of ways to make a guitar more "biting" that don't cost 1500 bucks
