Daniel Sorbera Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 (edited) is there a way to wire up a standard pot to cut bass insted of treble? :EDIT: lol I just read the topic and it says "but bass" when it should read "cut bass" Edited February 28, 2005 by Godin SD Quote
lovekraft Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Yes, it can be done. Just wire a cap between the input and the output lugs of a normal volume control, and add a second resistor between the third lug and ground. Its effectiveness and range will depend on the value of the components used. Quote
Daniel Sorbera Posted March 1, 2005 Author Report Posted March 1, 2005 (edited) ok so the right lug is input, the middle lug is output, right? Than I solder a resistor between the left lug and ground and put a cap between the middle and right lugs. Is this right? What is a good starting point of what values to use on the cap and resistor when using a 500K pot. Edited March 1, 2005 by Godin SD Quote
Daniel Sorbera Posted March 1, 2005 Author Report Posted March 1, 2005 (edited) yikes double post. Edited March 1, 2005 by Godin SD Quote
lovekraft Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Try a 250K linear pot, a 250K 1/4 watt resistor, and a .001uF cap - let us know how it works for ya. Quote
Daniel Sorbera Posted March 1, 2005 Author Report Posted March 1, 2005 alright thanks alot. It will be wired up within the mounth (still gotta get done finishing it ) Quote
