Tony Balls
depends how thick you want it. I used two cans of an equivalent on my last project. Some people would probably tell you to use 4 cans, but I didnt want a super-thick glossy finish.

westhemann
i used 8 cans on my beast. on a side note...i started with 3 cans of defthane polyeurethane...and it is really good aeresol poly...but when i ran out i could not find more...so i switched to minwax fast drying polyeurethane...guess what? exact same stuff...acts the same, dries the same, comes in the exact same can with the exact same spray tip ... i think it is made in the same factory and just labeled differently...but the minwax is available at wal mart, home depot,etc...
