I have a body made from two pieces of Alder. I haven't routed any cavities yet but I am noticing that there are some significant pores or tiny holes in the grain on the side that will have the bridge mounted (the face of the guitar).

My question is: if anyone here has experience with Alder - is this normal? Will I need to fill the

pores or will this go away with finish sanding? If so, how bad is it to use the grain filler stuff?

The thing that scares me is that I didn't notice this back when I shaped the body a few weeks ago. It seems like this may have happened recently.

Thanks,

Dave
