rookierob
Hello, I am building a speaker cab and have limited time to do so. Therefore, all of the construction needs to be done before the speakers even arrive at my door. Is there a general size that the holes in the baffle have to be for 12 inch speakers, or will they differ greatly? I was thinking the holes would have to be about 11 1/2 inches in diameter, but I wanted to check with you guys before I made any cuts. Thanks. The speakers are red cone Jacksons made by Eminence. rookierob
I checked specs on most 12" speakers by Eminence and it looks like they recommend a baffle hole of right around 11" (10.97 - 11.05). I am thinking if I go right to 11 it will be fine for a homemade cabinet. Thanks
thedoctor
I have always cut two different sized holes, depending on front or back-mount.
silvertonessuckbutigotone
Speaker size is rated by its radius ←
Gorecki
Speaker size is rated by its radius ← I think you mean diameter (radius= center to outside, diameter =side to side ←
lovekraft
Go to Eminence's website and look up your speakers - it'll tell you what size to make the hole.
