Primal
Just curious what you all thought about the band Isis. I think that their music is brilliant. Instrumental 95% of the time, but it never gets boring to me.
lovekraft
Since I'm pretty sure you're not referring to the seminal (pun intended) '70s grrl-rock unit that spun off from Genya Ravan's Goldie and the Gingerbreads, I'm assuming you mean the progressive/post-metal outfit out of Boston that released Oceanic back in 2002 and Panopticon last year. Do they have something new out? Excellent technicians, thoughtful lyrics, they're mildly impressive! Not my cup of toxic waste, but worth a listen, definitely. Sobot
I think the music is good. Singing is not my thing, don't like the style... Do you by any chance know if this is ture: I heard that Justin Chancellor of Tool played with Isis or something. Do you know anything about that? None of the songs I have have the signature Chancellor sound. Perhaps you are getting Isis confused with his old UK band Peach? He played with Peach before joining Tool. haggardguy
I've only heard their cover of Iron Maidens "Flight Of Icarus" but I definately enjoyed it, Primal can you suggest any other songs to listen to?
Primal
My favorite song of theirs is probably "So Did We."

We are both half-right. By playing with them, I thought you meant actuall gigging. "Playing" with a band and recording with them are two different things. But I digress, regardless, it is some good music. Edit: I just took a listen to the song Chancellor played in, and to tell ya the truth, I wouldn't have known it was him if I hadn't read that article. Probably because the guitars are so thick. There really isn't much bass in the mix. Or at the very least, they don't have the bass nearly as up front as the mix in Tool songs.
Sobot
Yeah At first I thought he was actually gigging, but I was wrong.
