Inward X
Ive been looking for the right pots to use for thumbwheel knobs on my guitar project..just like how Maverick does it. Not only am i having a hard time finding the right pots..but i have no idea how to mount em either. ive thought of a few ideas..but they seem too risky. i do realize you can use normal pots for this..but it would be very difficult..im lookin for the easiest way through. Does anybody have any ideas? Please help!!! X
Digideus
Maverick Guitars Website These guys... Pretty kewl looking. I dunno its its some special Pot or just side mounted with some special routing, but it would be interesting to find out. Anyone? Gemleggat
I've took one of those guitars to bits and it is indeed just normal pot mounted in a bracket on their sides. The knobs on them are bigger than usual. i dont imagine it would be easy to make. The are not very useful in use i find, too hard to turn up. Primal
Haha, the bridges on the basses are the contour bridges that customshopparts sells.
Inward X
you are so awesome. i dont see it being very practical either..but i think it looks cool and all that..n im willing to make the sacrifice lol. could you possibly post a picture of a bracket so i know what to get please? thanks so much
Gemleggat
I dont have one of those guitars to hand to show u. Its just an L shapes Bracket that has a hole in it for the pots shaft to go through. Easy, but difficult to route out i would imagine. Bigtommyb
i dont imagine it being that hard... why not just get/make some kind of L shaped metal plate that you can attach to the inside with screws or glue (if it will hold). if that makes sense... Gemleggat
Yea it is not out of the question to do it, but the cavity in these things are complicated because of how thin the wood is at the pots, it has to be to get the knobs flush with the top.
