runbacker30
I'm going to build my own guitar soon, and was wondering if I could glue to pieces of wood together to get the desired thickness I want?
jay5
Why not?
Drak
Yes, you can do that.
runbacker30
Well, I didn't know if it would add weakness to the body. So then nothing bad would happen?
erikbojerik
If the glue joint is good (all joint surfaces flat & meet with no gaps, not too much glue, not too little glue) then the glue joint should be stronger than the wood itself. I've made 4-piece semi-hollow bodies with 2-piece tops & 2-piece sides glued up as you're suggesting...no problems!
