ibreakemineedtobuildem Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 I seem to get a rash when I touch cured lacquer. It just happened out of the blue.I was playing and noticed an itchy rash where my arm touches the body. When I stop playing for a few days it goes away. I can't say for sure but it seems likely that it is the lacquer. Is this common at all? Quote
westhemann Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 more likely it is just from friction from your arm rubbing. wear a wristband up your entire forearm when you play.hetfield does it,so can you Quote
frank falbo Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 I get some irritation when I play a hard cornered guitar, like a Les Paul or an acoustic. All my guitars are smooth and/or sleek except for the acoustic and LP. So strumming against that corner makes it itchy and red. The other possibility is your own sweat or body oils, and/or the guitar polish. Otherwise try playing with a long sleeve shirt on and see if you still itch. Quote
ibreakemineedtobuildem Posted September 18, 2005 Author Report Posted September 18, 2005 I'm gonna try a wristband.I'm thinkin it's like a heat rash..........err diaper rash. My girlfriend always said I'm a baby Quote
scottyd Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 i would guess its the polish or wax not the laquer......... Quote
