daveq Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 Has anyone ever built or played a maple body guitar with a maple quilt top and a maple fretboard (with a maple neck)? Would it sound too bright? Quote
Guest AlexVDL Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 No and yes Never did it, and yes it would sound very very bright! You'd better use some tone zone pickups or others with lots of bass Quote
krazyderek Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 get some super distortion's!!!!!!! personaly i love maple necks, "too bright" isn't so much a yes or no question, it's all preference, try it out and if it doesn't work, u can always rout out some chucks of maple on the back of the guitar and put in some mahogany or other darker sounding woods in, then refinish the guitar, (anyone know what i'm talking about?) or just try pickups with less treb, like a set of super distortion's.... or just switch from 500k to 250k pots...
