goat Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 How come I don`t see too many guitars with a single coil (neck position) and humbucker (bridge) position ? I thought I read once that tone wise it wasn`t a good idea because of the way they work crappy together. Any truth to this? Quote
krazyderek Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 one of my guitars has H/S it's pretty nice, good balance i think, depends what pickups u pick out, and how u wire them though http://members.accesswave.ca/~derekn/squirestrat.jpg i like it cause single coils, or mini humbuckers tend to haveless bottom end, which is good in the neck and the bridge is a less bassy position, so a bigger bassier humbuker works a bit better, together they balance pretty nicely Quote
goat Posted August 14, 2003 Author Report Posted August 14, 2003 Thanks, It looks great. What are some of the more bassy humbuckers?Would a Pearly Gates fit that description? I might go that route with a vintage staggered single in the neck. Quote
